No. As a former-self-injurer I can tell you that is the truth.

I used to hurt my body because it was the kind of pain I could understand and do something about. Emotional pain hurts way more and takes much longer to heal (some never do) and it is so much harder to understand or explain.

Don't self-injure though . . . please. I am just using my own life as an example.

(((hugs))))

No...and believe me, I've felt some serious physical pain in my life. Emotional pain, like what I felt when my father died...is the most crippling pain ever. I hope that you aren't experiencing anything like that as a reason for this question.

Nothing comes close to emotional pain except death but by then you wouldn't feel it. My heart goes to you if you are in pain, been there and still am. Just to make you feel better, once a poet always a poet, you're never forgotten.

Though your heart, is deeply in pain,
It's his loss, and other men's gain.
He's not the only, fisherman in your sea,
If you need a friend, you have that in me.

no. i always say that physical pain goes away, but emotional scars last forever, so for me, if I had to choose between a bad beating or serious emotional mind f*ck, i'd choose the beating. it'll heal quicker.
