I dunno if scratching your belly will make stretch marks but I do know that you have a high chance of getting them. I didn't have stretch marks with my first daughter but my 2nd daughter gave me stretch marks from hell. With my first daughter I used a LOT of that Palmers Stretch Mark Cream with Cocoa Butter in it and I think it helped in preventing them so If you don't have any yet or even if you do just glob a bunch of that on daily and you might be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get them. But I've never heard of scratching an itchy pregnant belly and then stretch marks appearing...although I might be wrong so don't quote me on that

Scratching can make your skin more susceptible to stretch marks because scratching weakens the skin and can dry it out. Don't scratch and keep your skin as moist as possible.
Don't listen to these people who say it has no effect. It does! You can look it up on several sites. Just go to google and type in stretch marks + scratching. You will see what I mean. Good luck!

The stretching causes the stretch marks, not the scratching.

I do not think that scratching would make stretch marks. If it itches badly rub lotion on it or have your hubby do that.
