How do you define it. where is the line drawn? I recently got into a debate about hand-jobs with a friend of mine she said that it was not cheating I say it is. I thought why not put this question out there and see what I get back, so....

What do you define as the line when you cross over into infidelity?

Off course it is cheating for most people.

However, I also believe a relationship is like a contract between two people. If you wrote in the contract that it's allowable, then it is and no one should question it. However, it must be understood and agreed by both parties.

Here is a very hard line approach.
If you place your hands on another woman or man with the intent to do anything other than give a friendly hug or kiss. You are crossing the line.
If you commit the sexual act in your head about another person other than your spouse.. you are cheating.
You are also cheating by giving what should be spouses emotional intimacy to another person... I.E... dirty talk, emotional conversations .. I think you get the idea.

Cheating... by MY definition can only occur within the confines of a marriage and/or engagement to be married. And, then only if the act is non-consensual or not known by the other spouse.

If you are still SINGLE... then there is nothing to be considered cheating.

Single people have every right to play the field openly, and experiment as they see fit.

Marriage is about commitment and loving and respecting your partner. I think when you are deciding if something your doing is "cheating" you have to think, "Am I disrespecting my husband/wife by doing what I'm doing?" "Am I going to run hom and tell my spouse that I got a hand job from another woman?" Probably not. I'd consider that cheating.

To me....cheating is sharing ANY form of intimate relations with someone other than your wife or girlfriend, husband/boyfriend. Kissing, making out, sex, oral sex, and yes HAND JOBS. Some people define cheating as just sex, and that kissing is okay and acceptable. They try to justify it. Oh yeah,,,well tell that to your significant other..LOL Hell, tell them that you got a hand job and that should be okay too. I'm sure he/she would understand.

I agree with you. Any kind of sexual interaction is cheating. That includes just kissing. Even having an on line relationship. Many would consider cheating.

Frankly, I think even coveting someone who isn't your spouse is cheating if you do not have an open marriage arrangement. That includes porno if you haven't previously discussed the subject.

IMO anyone who thinks a hand job isn't infidelity is off her rocker!

The defining moment is inside of ones self and we all know what is right and wrong on that side of the line.

i don't do anything that i wouldn't want my husband to find out about or do back to me. the truth always comes to light so why bother lying (which is a form of cheating)
blow jobs, hand jobs, kissing, online profiles, clubbin with her (all the time), sexual intercourse... the list could go on and on. everyone has their own ideas about what is and what isn't cheating. check out this site. it really helped me when i thought my husband was showing unfaithful behavior.

If you can't go to your significant other and say.."Hey honey I'm going out to get a handjob, I'll be back in a few". Then it's infidelity. Broken trust only happens when one or the other doesn't agree with what your doing. If she/he is fine with it then there is no problem.
