I've been listening with disgust about Barry Bonds breaking the very hard earned record of Henry Aaron while cheating on steroids. Yes, I understand that Bonds has had clean tests for steroids, but his back against the wall with a possible indictment for the use of them. I have mentioned before that when someone is facing an indictment in the US distict court, they are in BIG trouble. Yes, we are all innocent until proven guilty, but verdicts and pleas are extremely high when issued by the US courts.

Here's my dilemma....I want Bonds to get the record and go away. Not only does he have the indictment problem, he is also obnoxious to other players, including his own team mates and has a hatred of the media and cares little for the fans. I want to turn toward Alex Rodriguez and hope he can break Bonds record so we can put Bonds to bed. I don't want to root for a cheater, though. What do you all know about A-Rod than being an extremely high paid baseball player?

First of all let me say this about Bonds. The courts have assembled a grand jury three different times and have not presented enough evidence for an indictment. From everything I hear this is going to be the last one and if nothing comes up, which I don't believe it will, Bonds is home free and all of us should give him credit for his accomplishments. Bonds testified before the grand jury that he may have used a "cream" and did not know it was a steroid. This occurred in 1999 which was more than two years before MLB and the Players Union implemented the drug testing program. It is estimated that Bonds has been tested more than (50) times since 2001, including off season, and he has never tested positive for any of the (53) banned drugs identified within the testing program. None of us should be lead down the wrong road about Bonds or try to come to our own uninformed conclusion about Bonds. As far as A-Rod, he has his haters also and I am sure all of this will be aimed in his direction when he gets close to the numbers put up by Bonds. There is no information that A-Rod has ever used drugs and he has never failed a test as well. Although A-Rod is certainly not loved by many fans he will, no doubt, have many fans that will jump on his bandwagon just because they don't like Bonds, who is really a jerk and who very few like. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.

If Canseco is telling the truth about A ROD then time will tell but again Barry getting 3000 hits is going to be a nice accomplishment to compliment the all time home run record. Let me say this as a fan, if Bud Selig can look at Barry with the dignity of being innocent until proven guilty, then why can't every other fan who dislikes him. Give him the credit that is due. When Mark McGwire broke Roger Maris' record, every fan celebrated but now since he didn't want to talk about the past in front of Congress, everybody hates him now. Every story has 2 sides and let everything play out before rushing to judgment

Barry Bonds is the biggest jackass in sports right now. He is always saying he is not still playing for the HR record but for his team. Thats the biggest bunch of bullshit I have ever heard. If you wach him play outfield he is slower than the biggest offensive lineman in football. He hurts the team and is not there for the team but he wants to break the record. He should have retired 3 years ago. I dont give the giants any credit because the only reason they gave him a new contract was so they could sell tickets this year. I garantee that if he was not close to this record he would have been out of the league 5 years ago. He admitted to takeing steroids but said he didnt know he was takeing them. Bullshit. I am glad the comissioner did not do anything when he tied the HR record. Bonds knowingly took steroids and he should not be in the league. Comissioner should get a testing policy that is not a joke. I think that Bud should get out of baseball and let somone else be the comissioner.

wake up and smell the coffee buddy. things have changed. they will soon have "supplements" that cannot be detected and they will double the output of the old timers like bonds and eventually arod. it is show biz baby! think of it as not an athletic competition. i mean do you really thing genetics have suddenly changed and evolution has jumped forward? that is bovine scatology. they are using and from now on they will use. it will be the price of making the big time. how many in show biz has died because of improving their act with some stimulents? i can think of 100 with out any effort. i repeat, it is show business and big bucks are at stake. expect more and more and more. they are out there to entertain us. they want fame and they want money. we really want what only the romans had at the coliseum. only then will i drive over and plunk down my hard earned bucks to watch the crazy fools go all the way. we are like that. so are the other animals. all the lions gather round to watch a young intruder charge in to run off the old boy. or try. fight to the finish. so far we only have cage fighting and blood flying everywhere. that will come to be part of football and the rest. we are blood thristy and we like it when they take drugs and fight in the cages. it evolves each year. bonds is the future! aaron is the past. more violence is demanded! bigger, stronger and more violent at whatever the cost. the new generation is bored with the old. not alll. just the majority! i have always hoped "Rollerball" would become a reall sport like the James Caan movie.

Basically the whole a-rod steroids thing is Canseco's way of trying to make a quick buck on another crappy book. If you view pics of a-rod from each year in his career it becomse obvious that he didnt use steroids. the only difference in him at is in photos from high school being compared to photos from a few years later. And thats not even much of a difference. So no, a-rod did not use steriods. I dont like him but i will still root for him to break the "record" that bonds sets because I will then know that the leader earned it the right way and not with steroids

Arod I don't know, Canseco apparently does. What everyone seemingly fails to realize about Bonds is that he ADMITTED using steroids. He admitted using the cream and the clear. All that he said was that he did not KNOWINGLY use them. Thus, whether you think he lied or not about that the bottom line is there is no debate. He used them.
