Hi Honey, I feel for you, like you I too suffer from depression, hopelessness, I don't laugh like I used to either, things I used to like I don't care about anymore, I don't see my friends like I used to either.
The only thing that is helping me is I am seeing a therapist, he gives me a prescription for depression, the medication helps take the edge off. I notice my depression is worse a few days before and during my cycle.
I promise you it will help you to go see a therapist , I don't know where I'd be if I didn't go.
Please look in your local yellow pages under family counseling or mental health clinics. If you don't have insurance they go by a sliding fee scale.
Best of luck to you!
If you need someone to talk to go to click on to my profile picture and you can e mail me if you'd like.

First and foremost..... yes if you are seriously concerned go get a professional opinion. My ex-wife had serious depression and with the correct medication was able to significantly improve her life and her relationship with her children. Simple tests like blood tests and an E.E.G can detect physical reasons if the situation is of a clinical origin.
That said psychiatry is the proverbial grey area as far as medical science goes. Don't allow yourself to be placed on irrelevant medications. ALL of them come with side effects even if they succeed.
As much as this may sound a little simple.... Often "diet" can lead to sustained depression. Talk to your local pharmacist about a good multi-vitamin supplement. You may find that this is really all you require.
Everybody goes through bouts of depression in life. Don't immediately conclude that yours is a medical problem. You just might need to re-invent a part of your lifestyle. It may even just go away. The brain is like everything else in life. You get out what you put in. Monitor your intake of "negative" influence in your environment. By this I refer to the music you listen to, the TV you watch etc. If you bombard yourself with negative stimulation you will inevitably inherit those traits.

The symptoms you have just described are extremely related to depression.
While, in today's world that word is thrown around so much as an everyday thing, it's very serious, and is not something to mess around about or with.
If these symptoms are truly those that you are experiencing, then yes, you should definitely speak with a professional about it.
Good luck!

Yes, go to the doctor and write down your symptoms, and when you tend to have those feelings and thoughts. The time of day and time of month. This will help give you a proper diagnosis. You may have some "PMS" problems, and not necessarily depression. It can be managed!

If you think you are depressed you probably are.
The best advice I can offer is to definitely talk with your doctor.
The is lots of help today so that you don't have to suffer from depression and since it has reached almost epidemic proportion in the US today there is no longer any stigma associated with asking for help.

I reply first, and if the answering makes me consider or makes my day, then I'll superstar. I recognise...it is choosy of me, sorry. o.o But this manner I emerge as pointing my lovers and contacts to the *well stuff* you understand? ^__^ Or no less than I attempt to. But have a celebrity besides only for being sufferer and knowledge. ^_^
