Jimmy Piersall played for the Red Sox, Indians, Senators, Mets, and Angels. He was a very good defensive center fielder in his prime, and had a little power.
Piersall also had demons. He suffered a nervous breakdown in Boston, and wrote a book about the experience that was turned into a movie "Fear Strikes Out." (The movie was famous for having palm trees beyond the outfield at Fenway Park in a couple of shots.) Piersall used to say the story should have been called "Fear Doubles to Left."

He also was a dynamic announcer for the White Sox who just kept getting into trouble for his sense of humor, which was great!
As a Washington Senator he once batted left-handed against knuckle baller Hoyt Wilhelm because Mantle refused to and batted right handed. Piersol missed a home run by inches before singling to right. "It just proves I'm a better hitter than Mantle" he said. God, I miss that guy.
