Many models realize this too late and end up depressed. The same goes for celebrities. I'd rather be a role model than a fashion model.

I did a little amateur modeling a while back and, honestly, it's very empowering feeling. To love what you're doing, and to know that people want you for it.
There is anxiety with this fact though. I threw in the model gig (at least for a good little while) when I started gaining weight. Alot of models won't stop though, alot will just take up an eating disorder, and some will even crack under the sheer pressure of knowing that they HAVE to pull off looking great or they are out of a job.

When I saw Zoe Tay and others doing their catwalks before their show , my friend and I used to tell each other that those ten cents models wanted 10 or 12 stages, and we told our sale managers just laid the tapes on the ballroom floor for them . They must have hated us but not all models are what you thought and Dick Lee loves to do make-up during their young days. Lisa Osman was fat when she was young and I saw her at home , daughter of Osman Bakar but she grown up beautifully and Miss what title I don't care.

I agree with you. I wouldn't want to be a model. For one thing, despite being six feet tall, I refuse to go any lighter than 165 pounds. Anything less is unhealthy, or close to it. I'm currently 193 and eight months pregnant and I look good.
Also, models are valued for what they look like, not for whom they are. I wouldn't want that. I've been hit on too many times. Correction, my BODY has been hit on too many times, not my person. Yikes. I'm happily in a career where I'm valued for me and it's very known that I'm far from perfect. I'm a housewife. When our baby is born, I'll be very blessed to be able to stay home and raise her. My husband and child love me for me. Not my body. (Although my husband thinks I've gotten sexier.)
Also, I wouldn't want to be famous. No privacy. If I'm stupid enough to drive drunk while pregnant, it will not make international news, or even "breaking news". I'm happy being anonymous.
My sister-in-law wants to be a model. She is young, naive, and inexperienced and I think she just sees the fame and fortune. Pity.

No one looks like that, they try to make them look jsut like mannequins, and since clothes are designed for mannequinns its so hard for ordinary people to find clothes.
