"Zatoichi" - A Japanese movie about a blind swordsman. It's not the typical martial arts flick, though. It has a fair bit of drama and some dry quirky humour.

"The Red Violin" - A French movie that follows a violin through five different countries and time periods.

choose subtitles any day. i'm a extensive fan of J-horror, so virtually something by potential of Takashi Miike will shop me happy. I observed French action picture stated as Delicatessen some years back - only wonderful! yet i think of my fave distant places language action picture (for now besides) is an Austrian action picture stated as humorous video games with subtitles. i myself do no longer desire to take heed to the voices of a set of failed actors who weren't stable sufficient to get some on-show time. i will rejoice with the performances of the real expertise the way it replaced into meant to be, thankyou very plenty :)

Life is Beautiful.

If you can stand the subtitles, it will make you weep. It's about the holocoust and the great lengths a father goes to, just to protect his son from the war.
