I'm Canadian but I used to live in America. I grew tired of the corruption in law enforcement, medical care and political system from the top all the way down to the strange political power the high school football coach has on an entire community.

Canada is no better. In many places, it's worse. I used to be able to say that at least we weren't fighting in a stupid and pointless war we've already lost. But sadly, when the current Prime Minister was elected into office, his first order was to translate our military from Peace Keepers (as we've been for over 60 years) to combatants to take the ease off of America in Afghanistan so you could pull out and redeploy to Iraq. Canada has been licking America's boots for a long time and this is the worst we've ever done. Our international reputation is ruined and we're paying millions for a war we can't and won't win.

I am not a proud American and becoming a very disappointed and frustrated Canadian.

All in all, I'm going to go to Congo and live with the monkeys in the trees.

I am proud to say I VOTE!!! I have a say in my leadership & even though I didn't vote for President Bush, I'd like to see how another elected official would deal with a thing like 9-11.
I am proud of the personal achievements I've made in my life.
I am proud to be a contributing citizen, in this melting pot & I have hope for all that come after me. I want to let the other nations of the world know that there is one person in the U.S.A. who cherishes them as fellow humanbeings. One who realizes that life is precious, all life. I am proud to be a lesbian in a 10 yr. committed relationship. I am proud & happy!!!

I'm proud of the beauty and diversity of my country. I'm proud that anyone here has the chance to succeed in life if they work hard. I'm quite chagrined that American politics has become so much influenced by the ignorant religious right. I'm disgusted by the stupidity of the Bush Administration.

I'm not proud to be an American. I'm proud of and thankful for the many opportunities that are available to me in this country but patriotism has never really been my bag. A reason to be proud of my country has never really presented itself.

I am American, and I am very proud of it. America isn't perfect, but it is a great place. We stand for freedom and equality and the rights that we all hold dear.
