I own a copy of it, and have now watched it..... 6 times.

On the first time i watched it, i was sickened by the dark side of Peter Parker. It just made no sense.

Other then that the movie was perfect. It was 100000000 times better and bigger then the other two.

I loved the way Spderman and Goblin had to work together in the end to win. I think they did really great with the dialogue, and the dramma and music.

The death scene of Harry was very very well done. Not a lot of movies put much effort into one.

Then i watched it a second third and so on time.

I began to understand the movie more and more.

Its the same thing with Xmen 3

I see people put that down all the time, but its as if yaul really think there is supposed to be a part 4.

Did you not realize that at the time both part 3's were made this was supposed to only be trilogies?

For Xmen 3 they killed off major charectors, and made a huge finale out of it. There might be a part 4 down the road,

but X3 rounded out one long story.

Like Rogue wanting to be normal

Wolverine learning his past

Xavier passing on the power

all sorts of things were tied up with part 3

Spiderman 3 was the same way

Part 1: Harry's father becomes Goblin. Kills himself trying to beat Spiderman

Part 2: Harry learns who Spiderman is and hates him. Spiderman falls in love with mary Jane

Part 3: Spiderman is facing marriage with a woman who is a danger to him. Harry must confront his hatred of spiderman once and for all.

In the end Harry learns the truth, forgives Spiderman, and all is well.

Wish people would get over somethings they say about movies.

Let's not split hairs, you own and ILLEGAL copy of it. The movie is not out on DVD yet so you certainly did not buy a legal copy. But I digress.

As for the movie, it had so many problems I hardly know where to start.

1. Gwen Stacy. As used by the story, she was a waste of time. She was never developed as a possible love interest for Peter and the jealously angle with Mary Jane was very poorly developed.

2. Sandman. While the effects were great, the character was not. They pulled his killing of Ben Parker out of no where. And the thing with his daughter was done exclusively to pull on the heartstrings. It was never developed as a real motivation for his action. And for that matter, Sandman was never really developed as a character.

3. Mary Jane. She is the weepy whiny girl friend but they never really do anything with her - except put her in peril. The story could have explored the resentment she felt toward Peter when her career fell apart, but it was hardly touched. She mainly just stood around pouting.

4. Harry/Goblin. This was probably the most interesting thread of the story. Harry seeking revenge on Peter/Spider-Man. But he bumps his head and loses his memory and it just goes away for most of the movie. Forget Venom and Sandman, there was a great story just in the battle between Peter and Harry. The movie also should have explored Mary Jane's reaction when she realized Harry was bad.

5. Dark Peter. This is probably the place where the movie missed the most. The stuff with Harry was good, but everything else was laughable. The scene where he's walking down the street checking out the women. And the dance scene in the bar with Gwen. That was total cheese and really lowered the bar for the movie.

6. Venom. I never read the comics so I wasn't really familiar with the character. But this is one of the places the movie really went wrong. Eddie Brock was very underdeveloped as a character; the movie didn't really develop his motivations and then he just turns into the whiny brat when he's outed by Peter. And then once he becomes Venom he has one fight scene at the end of the movie and then he was gone.

The biggest problem with Spider-Man 3 was too many threads to the story. The effects were first rate, I don't think anyone would question that. But they easily could have cut one or two of those threads and made a much better movie.

One of the things that made Spider-Man 2 such a great movie was the well developed characters. Doc Oc was an amazing villain in part because we got to know him as a person before he went bad. And then once he went bad we understood what what happening to him. The movie really gave us a chance to appreciate him as a character and that made everything else more meaningful. Plus, by focusing on just one villain and Peter's battle within, the story had room to really explore each aspect.

I didn't hate Spider-Man 3, but I was very disappointed. Especially when comparing it to the first two movies.

1. Too many dance sequences. I mean really there was no need for any of them in it. If they really felt the need to have one then they should have gone the route of FF2. Peter takes MJ dancing one night but seeing how Peter in a huge science geek he dances really bad.
2. Misuse of Gwen Stacey. Why was she in it? What purpose did she serve? Don't get me wrong I thought Bryce Dallas Howard was great but I felt that the used Gwen Stacey just for the sake of using Gwen Stacey so producers could keep the comic fan boys (like myself) happy.
Here is how I would have used her. Put her is the first film. Peter meets her in college after he finds out MJ is dating Harry. So Pete and Gwen start dating and he genuinely loves Gwen but still has a soft spot for MJ. Substitute Gwen for MJ on the bridge (like it really was and she dies). Pete fights the Goblin and you have the same ending and Spidey 2 stays the same. If they needed to use another character then use Debra Whitman.
3. They ruined Peter's character. When Peter bonds with the symbiote he becomes darker, more bad ***, more dangerous. He just became an annoying jerk in the movie.
4. The symbiote. In the comics it bonds to Peter's skin and all he has to do is think about the costume (or any other clothing like suits, leather, etc.) and it would just appear on him. That would have made for great CGI but they missed the boat there.
5. Not enough Venom. I thought Topher Grace was great as Eddie Brock. But why have Venom, a character every fanboy has been waiting to see and use him for like 30 minutes?
6. The Sandman. Why make him dislikable throughout the whole movie and then have him be like " I did it for my sick daughter". I was wishing that he succeeded at the end.
7. Too much going on. You had enough story for at least 2 other movies. Why blow your whole load on one movie.

I think it confused people because there were too many storylines in the mix: The Sandman, the alien costume/Venom, and Harry finally reconciling with Spider-Man. Any two of them would have gone together fine in the same picture, but with all three, it just seemed forced.

The Venom storyline, for example, really deserved a movie of its own. Considering how much hype the alien costume/Venom angle got in the advertising, it really got short-changed in the movie.

All I know is, I loved the first two, but after watching the previews for the third I had no idea what it was about and who the bad guy was. Maybe I'll like it when it reaches TV, but I'm more interested in the second one with Doc Oc being on cable this week.

I enjoyed the action picture, yet not virtually as much as I enjoyed the 1st 2. i grew to become into between the lads putting down Parker and his goth section. It did not worry me too lots, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that. The action picture purely did not look fairly as deep because of the fact the others; there grew to become into too lots occurring, like they tried combining 2 video clips into one. I additionally could have enjoyed to work out extra Venom. It grew to become into actual an relaxing action picture and that i could watch it lower back.

The plot was confusing. There were too many story lines that didn't work well together. Too many shallow subplots. Too many deus ex machinas. The dialogue was abysmal and the acting was sub par.
