Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, and a short review of each book. Ignore the reading level - I'm 45, and I find all of these books very enjoyable.

Another good site:http://www.interleaves.org/~rteeter/grtother.html#great . These lists have all the books that I *should* have read but didn't because of the mediocrity of my literary education.

I hope this helps.

I'm reading "The Falls" by Joyce Carol Oates. It's about a woman that goes to Niagara Falls for honeymoon and her husband jumps into the Falls after their first night together. It falls her through her life and the life of her children. I can't exactly say why I like this book but it's been a great read. I'm really caught up in it and can't wait to read the end. It's not a romantic tragedy but more of a character study with some history thrown in.

This year I'm into dragons. Right now I'm reading Throne of Jade (Temeraire series by Naomi Novik) & Song in the Silence by Elizabeth Kerner. Before that I read the Age of Fire books by E E Knight & DragonKin(first book) by Robin Wayne Bailey(need to still read the 2nd and 3rd).

For fantasy overall, I enjoyed Terry Brooks' "Kingdom of Landover" series, it's 5 books about a rich businessman who purchases a magical realm from a magazine. They're enjoyable.

i think of "The Lord Of The jewelry" sequence is worth analyzing. the action pictures did in simple terms a 0.5 of what replaced into interior the books. the only element i did not like replaced into the extensive poetry and making a song. For historic Fiction, attempt Bernard Cornwell. He focuses especially on conflict epics, yet he does extensive analyze into the historic activities that he centers his plots upon. Cornwell has achieved sequence set interior the U.S. Civil conflict, the Hundred Years conflict, and the Napoleonic Wars besides as an in intensity account of the King Arthur tale. in case you do not in simple terms like the conflict epics, Cornwell's "The Gallows Thief" ought to pastime you. in case you like something a sprint lighter, attempt Robert Asprin & Linda Evans' "Time Scout" books. the muse is that rips in time have occured and people can bypass to the previous. The rips in time are based around a terminal the place people decide for distinctive places in time. the top result's quite a number of books with lots of distinctive settings and adventures-in simple terms discover one that has a historic era you like.

The Count of Monte Cristo was good for a classic. If you want something more contemporary try The Rape of the A.P.E. by Allan Sherman the comedian(if you can find it). A.P.E. stands for American Puritan Ethnic. It is both an irreverant yet pointedly funny book. Enjoy!

Sounds like you're into the classics. I recommend Jane Austen novels. The two that come to mind are Pride and Prejudice & Sense and Sensibility.

I am about done reading Valley of the Dolls, a classic really. It is very good, I picked it up at a library book sale on a whim because it isn't what I would call my "type". But it has turned out to be really good.
