Then IF a dead body was in the apartment, we can safely assume it was Madeleine's since any other dead body there would have surfaced at some point.
SO
If Madeleine was killed by an 'abductor'
a) Why would he wipe away the blood stains?
b) Why would he take away Madeleine's body? The only reason to do so is if he believes that Madeleine's body has forensic evidence on it such as DNA. But given that he would not have had time to assault Madeleine because of the small time frames involved and that he could be caught at any time, I doubt he would have worried about this aspect.
So why given that, would you risk carrying a dead child out of an apartment and being caught red-handed? You wouldnt.
There is only 1 reason that someone would remove a body from the apartment and thats if you were worried that the discovery of the body would look bad for them, and the fact that no other persons DNA would be found on Madeleine which would point the finger of suspicion on those around her.

Willow - You will have noticed that I focused on the cadaver dogs ability to detect decaying body smells, NOT the blood evidence. I believe that the blood evidence could well turn out to be a red herring, however the fact that a dead body was 'smelt' by a dog can not so easily be overlooked. As for the blood for all we know it could be that of the abductor, but I doubt it, for reasons I will go into in another question (/statement)

TripTripper -Youre response to Busy Bee is spot on. Couldnt have said it better myself, and agree with the possibilities of a, b or c or a combination of the 3.

Dollybird - Here are some quotes for you.
"While a human has around 12 million olfactory receptor cells, according to "Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology", a bloodhound has around 4 billion."
"Once a person dies, they no longer have a specific scent, they have a generic scent,"
So clearly the dog only responds to that particular generic scent which can only be given off by a decaying body.
And even though you should know me enough to know I dont go making up quotes, here is where I got my information from.

I do agree and answer one of your questions yesterday to that effect.
People are concentrating on the blood stain to the exclusion of the fact that the cadaver dog also detected the scent or whatever of a dead person. Would it not be somewhat coincidental for more than one person to have died in that same hotel room.....
In answer to the "BusyBess" point maybe the "body was left for 2 hours for one of several reasons"
a) To give the perpetrators enough time to concoct a reasonable enough story
b) Worry, fear, ambivalence as to whether to report it straight away due to the possible consequences
c) The surrounding resort could have been busy at the time they hoped to remove the child and so the later it got the easier it may have been to go about undetected...

Your question makes very good sense Dave.
Now can you work this one out. If Madeleine died in the apartment how did they dispose of her body? Admittedly some of the McCanns' party does seem to have been roaming around a bit, but surely the time would have been very tight. Perhaps the guy allegedly seen rushing towards the beach might have been responsible for this part of it? Or what about that rumour we heard about ages ago that a man had been seen putting a large bin bag into the rubbish disposal unit. God, I hope it wasn't like that. Surely nobody could be so wicked?

If a person kidnaps a child I'm sure that they wouldn't be too bothered about mopping up some blood. It would be a quick in out job and off with the child. If she was actually murdered as you say there is no point in carrying the body around with you. What would you want with the body of a three year old child? You could come up with some obscure theory of some completely twisted person who gets their kicks off killing people and collecting bodies but it is far fetched. It is far more likely that Madeleine died from an accident and the McCanns covered it up due to the fear of going to prison. Of course it is all just speculation but I would be very suspicious if I were the police.

I still want to know WHY these sick people kill children, For what reason? Is it because they are cowards and can't pick on someone their own size. WHY children. So innocent and helpless. I know I got away from your question, but I will never never understand killing of a child. It's bad enough when they do it to adults, but a helpless child????
Besides, it doesn't matter if the blood was cleaned up, All they have to do is use that spray called Luminal. It will bring old blood out through special glasses. It could also be someone elses blood, depending on the amount. Cadaver dogs are only there to detect the presence of a corpse, not blood. So there had to be a body there at one tiime or another.

While I hate to think about the possibility that the parents would ever harm a child of their own, I have to admit that such cases have happened before, IE Fred and Rose West , one of who's victims was their daughter, another well known case is 24-year-old Pauline Zile who in Florida killed her 7 year old daughter with the help of her husband who continually beat the young girl. She joined the beatings and gagged her daughter with socks. During one beating the little girl choked and they could not revive her, they then hid the body behind a local Kmart.
Another terrible example happened to a family I grew up with.
The Mochrie Family.
The father was a local business man, the business's started to fail, he became desperate and when things were looking as if he had no way out, he cracked. He killed his wife and 4 children and then himself. A neighbour reported that he had chased 10 year old Beth Mochrie out of the house to drag her back inside, She was apparently shouting No Daddy No. That was the last anyone saw of her or the family.

As I've said before, if you thought one of your children had been abducted would you leave the other two alone while going back to your crowd of friends to report the abduction? I'm sure if K had taken the twins when she returned 'hysterically' to the restaurant the news reports would have said so. No way was Maddie abducted, K returned to find a body in the apartment.

Exactly. If she was killed in the apartment by a stranger then there is no way he/she would wipe the walls clean of blood or take away a dead body when the McCanns or friend could have returned at any moment. Therefore if there was no intruder then it must have been an inside job.
I wait with interest for the blood dna results .

Dave, what about all the lies they have told to the police, like: -
They checked on them every 30 minutes, then it changed to every 50 minutes.
Then the said that the door and shutter was locked, when in fact it was left open.
Then Kate ran to the restaurant shouting out (They've taken her)
Why did they try to clean up the apartment which took 20 people to do so. There is some more to your question Dave s.
Someone said to me today, that Gerry could of been a very violent person in drink. It makes sense to me to how the blood got on the wall, someone even said about 2 months ago on here, that one of the neighbours in Portugal heard Madeleine saying don't hurt me daddy. The theory continues until we get to know the truth, which is soon I hope.
Just take it from me, they are both as guilty as sin.
Look at the Neil Entwistle case, when he shot his wife and baby daughter 'Lillian' in Boston USA. He fled the scene and went back to his parents home in the UK, protesting his innocents. That is another story that has more twists in it than a twister ice cream.

Dave,
Correct. But the story about the cadaver dog has not been substantiated and the DNA evidence is not available.
Wiping blood. Well... if i injured myself self by accident I'd wipe the blood wouldn't you.
Also the blood could have been there even before the McCanns... well seven years before the McCanns.
