I recently had a breast reduction (12 days ago). When is it alright to drink? Will it slow healing? Does it make the swelling worse?

NOTE: I've been 100% off all prescription medications for days now.

The surgeon's office is closed for the night, which is explaining why I came here.

I don't /need/ a drink. I'm just going to a social event, and was wondering if it would hurt anything to have a beer or two. I'm not going to die without it, obviously.

I know that binge drinking would be unwise, but would a beer or two do anything?

I'm off all medication and typically have a very high tolerance to alcohol. I'm not planning on getting "drunk" anytime soon.

From research, I've found that it's okay to drink as long as one's off of Rx pills and doesn't get drunk enough to fall and hurt oneself.

I personally would not have any alcohol till my body was 100% healed from surgery.

I would wait at least a month to have any alcohol.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND PATIENT, DON’T DRINK ANY ALCOHOL DRINKS, EVEN LIGHT ONE!!

Alcohol really can damage your health and destroy the results of plastic surgery , even more, it can cause bleeding and negative effects on your organism, such as vomiting or sick- headache. In a few weeks after cosmetic/plastic surgery patients if they really want may drink alcohol drinks but in moderation, otherwise they know what can happen! Excessive consumption of alcohol increases the chances to damage the results of surgery.

The best would be to forget about any alcohol drinks during the recovery time instead use your time for more useful things, such as walking, doing light exercises, cosset yourself with massage procedures.

It's generally the type of medication [drugs] you're prescribed that depends on your reaction to alcohol.

You should be asking the surgeon or doctor, not any of us on here. Good luck!
