To Be Honest When I First Read The First Harry Potter Book And Saw The Movie Soon After I Understood Why People All Over The World Went Potter MAD! It Had Magic, Villains, Wizards And Three Headed Dogs. I Mean Whats Not To Like. But Not Soon After The Effect Of Harry's Spell Started To Ware Of On Me And I Started To Think Differently About Harry And His Magical World. I Started To See What Else What Out There Apart From Harry And His Friends. It Happend When I Was Watching 'The Night Flier' And A Name, A Single Name Popped Into My Head. Stephen King. I Thought About All Stephen King's Novels And Short Stories And Thought Why Not. I Was Always Fascinated By Stephen King, Especially His Characters Like Annie Wilkes (Misery), Mort Rainy (Secret Window, Secret Garden) And Jack Torrance (The Shining). And How His Writing Made People Want To Keep Reading Until You Came To The End. I Am Not Comparing J.K. Rowling To Stephen King, In Any Way, Shape Or Form. They Both Deserve Due Credit Because They Made People Of All Ages Want To Read. The Point I Trying To Make Is That Just Because A Book Has Ended Doesn't Mean It's The End Of The World. There Are Always Other Adventures To Read, Other Worlds To Become Apart Of And Others Characters Know And Love.
That's My Opinion Anyway.

Well, as I can see, 90% of questions in this section are about Harry Potter.
It seems that it is practically the only book most people have ever read in the usa. If it is finished and Harry is no more, those people would feel lost in the desert without water, without a camel, without a compass, without a map, worse than the rusians when comunism fell

More has become of these books than the books themselves. Harry Potter is popular, world-wide, with movies, novelties, hundreds of websites, games, and more. The fact that the last installment came out, officially ending it all and possibly causing Harry Potter's popularity to die out, is, well, a bit disappointing.

Because we are all addicted and have been brainwashed by the goodliness that is harry potter. (and we're proud of it!) That's why there are so many fan fictions for harry potter, why theyre are at least ten or twenty literary-based RPG forums based solely for Harry Potter, not to mention the video games, paraphanilia, t-shirts, keychains, bumper stickers... you name it.
If you have a problem with it, wait a couple of months before looking again. We will still be grieving the end of the original series then, but most of us will have moved on to reading the fan fictions.

there are always the last two movies=]
harry potter is the best selling series in the world. its not going to be completely over until society and jk rowling decide that. for all you know jk rowling will make another book involving harry potter's kids. if you are referring to deathly hallows, people read at different rates. and they like to discuss it. therefore, you will probably be hearing more about for at least like a month.

We all just need to look to what drew everyone to harry potter.
Was it good writing or was it the hype? If you can honestly say it was good writing everyone should now be moving on to other great authors.
There are tons of authors as good as or better than JK. If we learned anything from the long ride is should be that anyone can have a hit series of books if marketed correctly.
So get to your PCs people and start hitting those keys...

A lot of young people came to enjoy reading by way of series, they grew up with the series, and having a book come out every year or so. I'm going to miss having the next release to look foward to, and finding out more of the story. Oh, well, at least I have the movies =)

Its because most people followed the series for years!! Waiting, antisipating, wondering about the 'end'....when it finally comes....it's almost like a dear friend has been torn away. :(
