For what???

For the mechanic's time and knowledge.

The inspection is not covered by the warantee. You might talk the mechanic into waving the inspection fee if he finds anything serious wrong.

Products warranties apply to mechanical parts and body parts. Inspection is a state requirement. The shop has to be licensed. The mechanic has to be licensed. The shop has to pay fees to the state.
If they find something wrong with your vehicle. Then you check to see if it covered by warranty.

check ur contract for the warranty, some warranties will only cover the car if ur car actually breaks down...that's the down side of a warranty...and check to see if you have to pay a deductible too

if it was for renewing plates or stickers the fee goes to the state...if not it was just labor charge for looking over the car
