1. The menstrual like cramps are what you might call "pre labor" contractions. I got a lot of contractions in the weeks leading up to labor and I kept thinking they were "the real thing" but then they would go away

2. Having frequent BH contractions is coming in the last weeks of your pregnancy, and they may even hurt quite a bit and your uterus might stay firm for a while.

3. The pressure you are feeling is the baby's head pressing down on your pelvic floor.

You are in the home stretch. Hang in there!

1. When you sit in the same position for too long, you are cutting off your circulation in your femoral veins. The cramping is a sign that your uterus is having a little trouble and oyu should move around for a bit. You are okay, but it just means, "move."

2. Labor could be near or far, but the braxton hicks will help your body get ready. Like practice.

3. This is the baby in your pelvis. This is a good sign that your baby is getting ready to come out. Could be a while, but no one knows.

Good luck!

Everything you describe is totally normal for 37 weeks. The cramping from when you sit in the same postion for too long is likely the result of bad circulation--the baby is likely cutting off the blood flow to your muscles in your lower abdomen. Try moving or at least standing up to stretch frequently if you are sitting at a desk etc.

The braxton hicks are just your body's way of gearing up for labor. You are developing some very important muscles and those are like sit-ups that you don't even have to work for :) It doesn't necessarily indicate that labor is close however. I had them very consistently from the time I was 7 months through the end.

The pressure you feel when you stand up is also just the baby who has likely descended into his/her head-down position and is now sitting much further down into your pelvis. I remember it feeling like I was trying to walk with a watermelon between my knees!

All of your symptoms seem very normal and you may go into labor soon, but don't be surprised if the baby still holds out for another couple of weeks. If you are still concerened, don't be afraid to call you doctor's office too--they are totally used to women calling with questions (especially if this is your first baby!).

Congrats and good luck! May God bless you new little one!!!!

I think it's normal and your labour is not so far. Talk with your doctor about this.
