Wow, somebody is a little freakishly too involved in yahoo answers here.....
I agree with many people here, Edwards isn't ready to become president, vice maybe, lets face the only reason he is running is because he got a lot of sympathy for his wife having cancer and got bunches of money and wants to cash in.
Clinton is crazy and says what the audience wants to here, and even then most of the time its not even answering the question at all.
Obama is too safe. Much like Clinton he doesn't answer questions specifically but instead dances around issues and tells people the obvious and everything that wont hurt him. Though not as much Clinton, Barrack never the less still doesn't like the rock the boat and stir any controversy because its politics as usual and they're just trying to keept their voters happy.
AND all of the above accept lobbyist money so they are politically swayed if they are elected and give special interest to those paying companies instead of the American people.
You can ready in the New York Times many many Wall Street Bankers have pledged money to these campaigns.
I can't stand Edwards, Clinton defends her husband, though he was good he cheated on her in office and raided social security funds to make a budget surplus, and Obama says "When I am elected President" too much and is annoying.
Put an end to this dancing around issues, lobbyist money, and corruption. I am personally voting for Senator Mike Gravel. No lobbyists', he tells you what he thinks, tells you what he is going to do, and there is no side stepping when it comes to his explanations. He has been out of the Democratic fold for a while but he single handedly ended the draft, and was against the Vietnam War. He is an Eisnhower guy so he wont put a lot of emphasis on the military. Why should the U.S? We have enough nukes to bomb the world over 3 times and our military budget is 8 times greater than the country in second.
Go to Youtube and search "Gravel" first watch the many Gravel metaphorical videos he made with a couple of professors in California as a favor to them for an art project. Then watch all the interviews and debates. Every single time, he tells the people the same thing over every issue, and I have respect for that. Then type in "gravel clinton obama" and watch the debate clips of how Clinton and Obama never answer the many questions asked to them. In one instance Anderson Cooper, the moderator in one of the debates, has to ask repeatedly "Yes or No" to a specific question because they never fully answered it. They are too afraid to answer anything. In this video search you will then see Gravel answer them.
Note: CNN is extremely unfair to many of the candidates in its debates. Clinton and Obama were asked far more questions and recieved far more time than other less known candidates as Kucinich or Gravel.
Gravel is straight forward and truthful and you should research him as well as many of the other less well known candidates. Don't waste your vote thinking that its going to between the big 3, cast your vote who most exeplifies your beliefs. It just so happens Gravel does that, and it doesn't hurt that he isnt corrupt and is a stright shooter.

Clinton Pros: Eight years of not sleeping with ANYBODY! She practiced celibacy during her years at the White House.
Obama Pros: He was not a Senate member in 2003 and therefore could not have possibly supported the war.
Edwards Pros: His hair, and the fact that Ann Coulter is his campaign's biggest fundraiser, which is cool.
Clinton cons: She will do everything her husband tells her to. The country will repeat the 1990s again, ending with a massive recession and another terrorist attack on home soil.
Obama cons: He was not a Senator in 2003 and "opposed the war from the start." But now he wants to unilaterally invade Pakistan. How is that different from the Iraq invasion he "opposed from the start?"
Edwards cons: Completely and totally anti-civil liberties, including religion. He kicked off his campaign by profaning and blaspheming God and the Virgin Mary, while telling us Jesus would be ashamed at how we treat our poor. Meanwhile, his neighbors in the trailer park across the street from his residence have never met him. He was part of the 2004 Kerry campaign, so he "voted for the $87 billion before [he] voted against it." Rides the fence and promises nothing.
All three are promising to jack taxes to the sky, and in an economy that is wobbling from the housing sector, a tax increase WILL NOT BE A GOOD IDEA, and plunge the nation into a massive depression.

I am an Obama supporter because of his past personal history, political record and policies on the war, health care and education. It sounds like he would me a more centered Democrat, not running crazy with free programs like Clinton might do.

Guts feeling after you have thoroughly checked the issues.
The issues are very often unavailable or murky to say the least. I wish the candidates would be more upfront and spend some time revealing what they propose to do when in office.

You should vote for Obama because he has the best plan for change in America. visit barackobama.com or take a moment and watch any video he has prepared. I suggest his Springfield, IL Acceptance speech for the 2008 election. After that you will understand clearly why he is the best candidate.

Clinton changes her answers to fit her audience. Edwards just is not at the level to be president. I like Obama for many reasons. I think he has a good heart and a good head on his shoulders-two things necessary for a good president. He is also consistent.

Jennifer Johnson's answer was the best. Inform yourself and make the decision that you feel is best.
PS. The best choice may (or may not) be a Democrat.

Well, it depends what your political views are. Not everyone is going to think the same characteristic in a person is great, because people have different opinions.
