Hitler was a inhumane, insane, creature that should never have died. But just be tortured for the rest of his life.

That being said. The advancements made, while Hitler was in power was unsurpassed by any country. The advancements made in the industrial, medical, and even economical worlds had a huge impact on the world. We can learn from what has done. But work to make sure that history never repeats its self

It is generally accepted that the medical experiments conducted by the Nazis has indeed increased our medical knowledge. However, the means by which such knowledge was gained was tremendously unethical and inhuman. Most people wouldn't consider it worthy of praise, rather it is viewed in the sense that if such horrible experiments/tortures had to occur, at least the world gained something for it as a side effect other than tremendous sadness.

On that note, much medical knowledge has resulted from the study of torture/infliction of pain. The desire to be inflict extreme amounts of pain on fellow humans requires a certain level of knowledge about the human condition.

Such as what? Propaganda?

No. I do not think that he made "advancements for humanity." Any "advancement" has been made in spite of him.

Regarding Nazi "medicine:" Handicapped? "Feeble-minded?" Alcoholic? Depressed? Petty criminal? Eccentric?

You could have been among the first to be sterilized or euthanized as a "useless eater" in the interest of the Volk---whether "both of your parents are albino" or not.(see asker's contact info).

Actually, if both your parents are true, recessive-gene-type albinos, the three of you would have probably been of particular interest to certain Nazi experimentors!

Regards!

Hitler initiated many scientific projects that led to advancements that are still apparent in the modern world.

He oversaw the production of the first jet powered airplane.

He oversaw scientists who, after Germany's fall, help America perfect it's Atom bomb.

dlin333-Hitler was evil, there is no debating that. However, there is also a consensus among most historians that he was a genius.

In a sense he created a competitionnfor advancements (not all of them good). Because they were trying to be the cutting edge of technology, this created a competition with it's enemies. For example, the atomic bomb was originally and first though up of by the germans, but the americans felt the need to built it first so that the germans would never get a chance to reek havoc with it. This allowed advancements in many levels of physics like quatum mechanics, nuclear physics, and the understanding of things like the sun (by using fission we discovered fussion which is what the sun uses.) This happened with many subjects, but mainly technology and unfortunatley had to kill over 11 million people to get there.

Unfortunately the horrific nature of Hitler's regime negate any positive advancements he could have made

no, he tried to take natural selection and be un-natural with it, there was no needed nor necessary experiment

his whole theories of a superior race are crazy

in fact, when i see pictures of him, i am surprised he even called himself "white", he looks a little dark to me, so do alot of those neo-nazi types,

i mean come on, i could say they are not even blonde, where do they get off calling themselves "pure white"

ps: i think Hitler was evil, and there isnt much to debate about it!!
pss: green, to me, and many, it doesnt matter how brilliant you may be in one area, if you kill and torture children you are not a genius, lets reserve that distinction for a higher level of human

I might refer to him as the father of "ethnic cleansing". Yes, he advanced ethnic cleansing and other evils.
