Ok, so you don't want to delete Limewire, right? Well, if its making your computer slow, then take it off of your computer. If you want free music, use Ares instead.
It is like Limewire. My friend uses it. It is very easy to use, and you get free music, as much as you want without slowing your computer. It is also not illegal. It is simple to use. If you choose to install it, then this is how to use it:
1. Go to the "Search" tab.
2. Type in the name of the song you want.
3. Double click to download.
4. Go to the "Transfer" tab.
5. When it is finished downloading, right click the song.
6. Select "Locate File." The "Shared Music" folder.
7. Just drag it onto your iTunes or Winows Media Player or wherever your music library is. Enjoy!
Hope this helps. Once you have downloaded a few songs, you wil get used to it. I have done it on my friend's computer many times. Click the link below to download it.

Hi! Yes, I do believe LimeWire is making your computer slow. I have an older Dell (I am receiving a newer model shortly). My kid installed LimeWire two months ago and I could barely work on this older computer. Finally, I just removed it and, of course, he was not happy about this. But, I made him the promise that I'd find a faster computer to support his music downloads. My older computer is running superbly now! Wishing you well!

how fast is your internet speed, limewire is probably using all the bandwidth..also do u have anti-virus s/w? a lot of files on limewire are viruses so u need to be careful, do a scan for virus/spyware on the computer...if u dont have your own , then go to google and do a search for 'trendmicro free scan' ...its a really good free anti-virus scan - but its just a one off scan.
also i know u said u dont want to uninstall it, but for dl'ing i really recommend u use a torrent program like utorrent - much faster, and before u download a file u can read peoples comments on them so u know if the file is good or bad

Limit your upload/download speeds and number of concurrent downloads/uploads. The network traffic is stealing all your processor.
