No. There's a new federal law about this. If you are caught listening to AM radio after noon, you are punished by having to listen to weather and traffic reports only for at least 5 years.

AM Radio rocks! a lot of super stuff on there. i urge you to apply AM Radio each and all of the time. get removed from the main suitable option 40 music. get removed from a similar 4 bands that the classic rock stations play. get removed from the oldie station as you are able to purely hear many of the Beatles and Elvis before you opt to circulate on a killing spree. get removed from that *coughs* u . s . a . music that sounds like rock music with a multitude around. music in AM Radio, see what's somewhat happening interior the worldwide!

It all depends what you are using it for, if for example you were listening to radio broadcasts, that would be totally out of the question, however if you were to eat it, throw it at someone, or use it to weigh down a bag of kittens before dropping it into the canal, that would be very acceptable.

Its NEVER okay to use AM radio unless its an emergency!
It sounds a MESS and moans and buzzes all the time.

hahahaha yes and actually AM radio is great at night as you can get stations from 500 miles away and more.

AM broadcasting stands for Amplitude Modulation. it's perfectly legal. i'm sorta kinda hoping you're joking. which i think you are (hopefully) but i hope this info is helpful.
