I don't think we should stand for ever, but I think standing still for a while is helpful...especially for me.

It took me 20 minutes to jump off the cliffs in Jamaica...but I finally did. It was dark below and the rocks looked much closer to the surface.

I wanted to assess the situation until I felt comfortable. I trust myself. I know what I need to feel safe...

yeah... because sometimes the hardest step is the first, so it takes a little while and it needs a moment to take the decision and make sure it's the right one... but once the walking begins, there's no stoping...! lol

A conscious decision to stand still is a figurative step requiring a thought and action to remain in place.
In the context of your question, yes it does.

The interesting conundrum it presents is a body in motion tends to stay in motion and a body at rest tends to stay at rest.

Yes because sometimes you really don't have anyplace to walk to. And once you find that place, then the first step needs to be taken no matter how hard it is.... :)
