people who somehow agree with Bush? As a conservative, I am sick of having to defend my self. Dubya is not a conservative and I would really like to find a new name for his ilk. Any suggestions?

Yes he does give conservatives a bad name. Just like Jane Fonda did for liberals. You are not a traitor, just a human with their own perspective. We could call them The Misguided with No Clue. MNC.

How about Neoconservative? Just say you are an old school (Reagan-esque) conservative. Much different than the yahoos in the White House now.

Cheers!!

What is your definition of a conservative. I believe that the President's platform lines up with what a member of the conservative republican party stands for.

Lower Taxes
More Property rights
More power to the States less in the hands of Federal Government
A strong Military
The right to keep and bare arms to protect ourselves from our own government. I bet most people that oppose that right don't even know that is the original reason for it's inception.
Pro Life
Traditional Marriage
Tough on Crime

Should I go on. I don't know what your beliefs are but mine are right in line with the President's and I call my self a conservative. How about you?

I agree. But I don't think we need a new name.

We are who we are. Some cons support Bush, Some don't. If others don't realize that there is a difference, then THEY need to change. Not us.

I think Nazi does have a special ring to it.

I wish people would use a dictionary. No where does conservative imply that you agree with everything the president does. They have other words for that (idiot.) If you do not criticize your government, you are not being a good American. It is our job to keep politicians in check.

It's best to just not refer to those kind of people. They are dangerous and often violent.

I'm sorry you've had to be associated with those people. Don't get caught up in the labels, you are who you are.

They already have names for people like that. Fascist, sycophant and apologist are a few of them.
