My vigina is red, very itchy and tingles with burning sensation. Could it be an infection? This is the 5th time i have had this type of problem within the last few months. I am not on birthcontrol or any other medication. I dont know what it could be. My doctor keeps telling me its yeast infection. but i doubt it. I'm married....so i dont sleep around. i dont know what it is and what causes it.

It's a yeast infection. You don't get them just from sleeping around. Most often they are caused by other things than that.
Have you taken an antibiotic lately? That can cause a yeast infection.

You don't need to be promiscuous or use hormone birth control in order to get a yeast infection. It occurs because of an imbalance inside the vaginal passage involving the naturally occurring "Good" bacteria.

Treat the yeast infection with either an OTC treatment or a prescription medication, then consider making some lifestyle changes.

Eat less sugar, wear looser clothing, only 100% cotton underwear, NO nylons (except for short periods of time), remove wet clothing ASAP, do NOT douche ... EVER, wash your external area thoroughly 2-3 times a day. Trim or shave your pubic hair in the vulva area (on your lips)

If these measures do not help, consider seeing a specialist to find the source of your problem. Yeast should be a very intermittent thing (like I've only had ONE infection in 15 years).

A yeast infection can happen to anyone. Yeast grows in moist areas on the body. You can get a yeast infection due to numerous things... Being allergic to some materials that are near that area... Change in diet... A bunch of things. If your doc is telling you it's a yeast infection, why don't you listen? They went to school to cure this and other things... It's not like the treatment is painful.

Yeast infections are really hard to get rid of. You need to take the medication as directed by your doctor. You husband may need to take it also. You can give it to him and he can give it back to you, and so on and so forth. They can drive you crazy.

Your doctors right: you have a yest infection. Unlike popular theorey, you usually don't get a yeast infection from sleeping around. You just happened to get it the way you get rash. (Just kinda randomly) Get it treated and you should be fine. :)

It sounds like a yeast infection. You need to treat it right away, just because you're not a slut doesn't mean you don't have it
