My mother was the most amazing creature that walked this planet. My dad is like... uber intelligent and my sister definitely takes after him in every way. They both live wonderful lives and are married and just as happy and as active as can be. I haven't a reason in the world to be ashamed of them. But I often wonder if they were ever ashamed of me. I was the social kid, rather than the intellectual kid. So I know I didn't follow the family traditions quite as perfectly as my sister did. I know they are just super proud of her. I wonder if they've ever felt ashamed of me. Yikes! (thank goodness I've got a damn family here then eh?? YAY)

No. We don't see things in remotely the same way so it went beyond ashamed and into the realm of different universes years ago.
My sons and I can see things if not the same at least in the realm of the possible, and that's all I really care about.

Sure, sometimes my grandma makes me want to crawl into a hole and die with some of the stuff she says. Seems like when you get older you lose some filter or tact that you might have had when you were younger! But they're you're family and you can't change that so you just gotta live with the moments when they make you turn red and cringe!
