I just gotten a rebuilt compressor, and yesterday I went to have my oil change and was told that my intake gasket was leaking. What should I do?

No my compressor doesnt have anything to do with the leakage. I have an 3.1 engine.

Are you having any trouble with the car? Stumbling, rough idle, or stalling can be attributed to a bad vacuum leak. But honestly, I've never heard of an intake manifold gasket being a problem. If you're not having trouble, I'd leave it alone.

Whether it's a 3.1 or a 3.8, it very well could be in need of an intake gasket. 3400 are the most common ones to show signs of leakage, but intake gaskets are more common on GM models than any other company. I'm not sure about what the compressor has to do with the intake leak, but I can assure you that there is no way that a compressor install would cause an intake to leak.

It all depends what it is leaking. Every GM motor built for the last 20 years leak oil, but it isn't so much a leak as it is a seep from the ends of the intake where they use silicone. If it is just oil seeping, leave it alone as this is quite a big job to fix and it usually will start seeping again. If it is the oil pump drive o-ring that leaks, you will have to get that fixed as it pumps out pressurized oil quite quickly. This is close to the end of the intake at the rear of the motor, so make sure what is leaking. If the motor is leaking coolant from the intake, you should get that repaired right away as this is not good. Good luck.

HAVE IT CHECKED OUT IF THE LOWER INTAKE IS LEAKING IT WILL BE EXTERNAL AT FIRST BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL LEAK COOLANT INSIDE AND RUIN THE LIFTERS
