States may vary, but there is no limit in the state of CA, it is however much you want to charge. You should charge at least one months rent.

Usually whatever the traffic will bear. Some jurisdictions limit how much PMs and LLs can charge up front. CA limits application screening fees to $25 unless the LL can prove that it costs more to screen the application. And security deposits are generally limited to 2 months rent though there are exceptions.

What is the "plus additional money"? They can charge a pet security. They usually take first month plus security or first, last and security depending on the state.

i would say anywhere from $100 and up. usually it equals one month of rent, and you will still need to pay the first month, but like the other poster said, depends on you past rental history, im sure they can charge as much as they seem fit.

Probably as much as they want, depending on your rental history and credit score.
