Neither. This is ART you are talking about, and it takes involvement on the part of the student to appreciate it. If you can remember things better when you SEE them - take art. If you remember better when LISTENING, take music. Be prepared to have to know an ENORMOUS amount of facts about all kinds of style periods, cultural movements, and world history. If you are lazy, take something else.

Mamianka is absolutely right, and you should award her 10 points. About music appreciation, however, you should be prepared to pass "drop the needle" exams. You will be required to buy several albums of classical music and listen to them in the dorm room in addition to class. When you take an exam, the teacher will play 3 seconds of a piece, and ask you to identify it. You may love it! You may be good at it! I know that I was, and I am today!

I am sure that other answerers of your question will tell you something similar about art appreciation, a subject that I never took in college.

I would say art. I can't tell you from experience but my best friend is taking music appreciation and he is bored out of his mind

since it's art or music APPRECIATION. it won't make much of a difference to which classes you should take. you're just going to look at music (or art) and learn its history. that's all there to it. if this doesn't help, then think of it this way. do you like to listen or to see creations?
