I had a miscarriage on 4th july an was told to wait at least 4 weeks before trying for another baby. Recently iv had some symptoms of being pregnant again. For example: Tiredness, feeling sick an just the same yucky feeling i had in previous pregnancies. Whats the chances of hormones from the baby that i lost 4 weeks ago still being in my body an resulting in a positive pregnancy test? I dont want to take a test incase this happens an my hopes are raised for nothing. Thanks to all who answer xx

First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss and I hope the Lord blesses you with a little one soon.

There is no chance that you would have any remaining hormones from your last baby. When the pregnancy ends, the hormone levels drop immediately and then disappear. After 4 weeks, nothing would be detected on a test.

So if you do take a pregnancy test and it is positive, then it means you have NEW pregnancy. Please keep us posted. We will be praying!

From personal experience I feel you could still have the hcg hormones in your system.

I know it's hard but try to remain positive. it's the summer holidays so you'll have the other two at home, any chance you can get a sitter and have a coffee out on your own, the walk there and back will do you good too.

Make an appointment to see your GP and talk things other with him/her.

Wish you all the best.

the hormones should have left your body within a couple of days of the miscarriage, I would advise you to go to the doctors and carry out a pregnancy test there! the doctor would also be able to advise you about the chances of any previous pregnancy hormones still being in your body.

It depends on how far along you were, but it is very possible that hcg could be present 4 weeks later. In some cases it can be as long as 8 weeks.

I think the only way to be sure if you are pregnant is to have blood drawn to check exact hcg levels, and to have an ultrasound to see if they can visualize a sac.
