I'm not so sure. You will have to carry alot of fuel. My 17' boat goes 2 miles per gallon, and i figure its about 85 miles to France. That means I would have to have 43 gallons of fuel. Thats more than twice my boat can hold.

I checked the limit of a 13' boat and its 360kg, 43 gallons of gas takes up 117kg minus a 90 kg person leaves you with 143 kg for supplies and the motor. I think you will be on the edge of the limit.

And even still a 13' boat cannot take large waves, it would be pretty scary.

Sorry for the switch in units.

guy cross the channel in a flatacraft force 4 rib. with a 25 hp i believe aqnd a small seagul engine as back up. but that was a RIB, could handle more than a regular speedboat could.
could you make it? if the weather and sea state allowed it. would i recommend it? no unless you have a RIB or support craft with you. wouldnt be something id want to do, the english channel can get nasty quick.
