Help....

im 17 yrs old and i got the coil fitted only 5 days ago... i got it because me and my partners condom split and i took the morning after pill too late so i got the coil as an emergency....

ive decided im going to keep it and use it as protection for the next 5 years.
But the problem is im prone to infections....

Ive had herpes and bacterial viagnosis and thrush before, when i got the coil 5 days ago i havnt stopped bleeding... as if i was on a normal period... so god knows what my period is going to be like...

ive just realised i have got thrush now.. will this lead to an infection in my womb? will i get infertile from it? ive been using tampons cause of the bleeding, should i not? do you suggest i get the coil removed? ive been on tablets to stop infections... will this stop an infection for sure?

has anyone got any personla experiences or tips to give to me?
im rlly nervous... help!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, you don't seem a good candidate for a coil, since you seem to be prone to vaginal infections. I think, keeping the coil in will create more infections for you. I'm surprised you got a coil @ all. Your antibiotics should clear up your infections & I don't think you will become sterile. Why not use the birth control pills & condoms respectively, this might be less trauma for your uterus.
You should definitely call your doc. & discuss the bleeding.
FYI: my girlfriend used the coil & got pregnant anyway, she has a thriving son. He was a preemie & weight 2 lbs. @ birth.

Who fitted you with the coil? I hope it was a gynecologist, did s/he not examine you? I think you ought to go to your doctor and discuss all these problems. No one here can tell you what to do, we have not seen you i.e. examined, its really the doctor's responsibility and yours of course.
