Me and my bf have been together for over 3 years. We are currently trying to have a baby. We have been using the pull out method before we started trying...is it odd that I never once got pregnant in those 3 years using the pull out method? By the way I'm 25 he's 26.

Statistics show that a couple using the pull out method could end up pregnant within a year.

Hi there - I don't think it's as odd as everyone else does. People on this board love to say that the pull out method is a sure-fire way to get pregnant, but its actual failure rates are not that bad. 4% with perfect use, 15-28% with typical use, says wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coitus_interuptus).
My partner and I have also used the withdrawl method for three years without a pregnancy. He's caused a pregnancy in the past, and I miscarried at 5 weeks about five years ago, so there doesn't seem to be a problem with our fertilities (presuming, of couse, that the miscarraige was one of the normal one in five fertilized eggs that fails to result in a viable pregnancy). I ovulate and have a regular cycle (we also avoid having sex when I'm ovulating).
I've spoken with my OB about it, and he agrees that the pull out method can be very effective if the male is good at it (my partner is). And the other side of the coin, of course, is that if you are relying on any imperfect birth control, you have to be prepared to embrace the consequences. We, like you, are hoping one day for a baby, so if we happen to be one of the 4-28% of couples that will conceive unintentially while using the withdrawl method this year, we will be happy to start our family.
Don't stress over being infertile yet. If you still haven't become pregnant after a year of keeping track your ovulation and him not pulling out, then might be the time to investigate your fertility. Not now. Good luck to you...

Okay my husband and I used the same method when we first got together which was about 4 years ago, we have been married for 2. I never got pregnant either, but now I have been TTC for 15 months with no luck. I have been checked out and everything is normal, but my husband is stubborn. So maybe it was just luck or there is something wrong. If your really considering having a child, I would make an appoitment for yourself and your boyfriend. You should probably think about getting married first for the baby's sake if you do end up pregnant.

Are you trying to make a baby or avoid one? You guys were probably very good with the pull out method. But now if you want to make a baby, you might want to try the push in method. Lol (sry just a little humor) It is strange that you havent gotten pregnant in three years without using contraceptives. Just be glad that you didnt have a baby when you werent ready. But now that you are, I would suggest visiting a fertility clinic or your GYN just to make sure that neither of you are sterile. Good luck!

i wouldn't say weird. it just wasn't the right time. when i first got married we didn't use anything for over 2 years and i never got pregnant. then one night out of the blue after sex he said "you're pregnant now". a few weeks later i went to the doctor because i thought i had the flu. it wasn't. i was pregnant. i don't know what to think about that.

I had one, months in the past. i do no longer understand if he replaced into precisely loopy, yet he sent a good number of creepy emails. no longer the stable/humorous/pervy style; greater like the type that make you ask your self what proportion lifeless hookers he has in his trunk.

Maybe it was just luck. Maybe it's something more. Make sure to see a doctor just to make sure everythings fine.

Yes, I do find that quite unusual. I'd ask bf to have a sperm count.
