Thunderstorms In Florida

Every day from June-October there will be scattered Thunderstorms in Florida. Central Florida is a sub tropical climate while South Florida has a tropical climate. This means a wet summer and dry winter. Most of the time the storms come in around 3-4pm and are over by 5-6pm and the weather is clear again. The mourning in Florida are great but as the air gets warmer weather gets unsettled and storms form. These are not just rain storms, these are tropical downpours with gusty winds, large amount of rain in short period of time and lots of Thunder and Lighting. Orlando is the Lighting capital of the world.
Enjoy your stay in the Orlando Area.

Yes, this is the rainy season in Florida. You can pretty much set your watch for a thunderstorm around 3:00pm. They don't last long, but after they are over - be prepared for the humidity to be VERY high. There are PLENTY of things to do at Disney while it's raining, and by the time you're off the ride - it will have probably stopped.

We are having a VERY hot week this week - so bring sunscreen and a hat.

Welcome to Florida - if you don't like the weather - just wait 30 minutes - it'll change.

During this season the forecast includes rain and thunderstorms every single day.Where I live/Tampa Bay area/,very close to the beach....truthfully it has not been bad at all.Even if it rains,it only lasts for a very short time. You cannot even tell an hour later, the sun comes right out as if nothing ever happened....Do not let the weather discourage you....It is the humidity that is way worse than anything else.
Just bring your desire to have a good time!

Scattered Thunderstorms means it will probably rain in the afternoon, but not for very long (30-45 minutes tops). It cools things down, so it's kinda nice. There are plenty of things to do at Disney when it rains and most rides have covered lines so you won't get wet while waiting.

Afternoon showers are very common and won't ruin your trip. They don't last long. Just hunker down inside somewhere and sit it out. Actually good time for a break. Try Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland, or The Tiki show, or shop on Main Street.

The good news is that the tropics look fairly quiet for you and no hurricanes will really disrupt your trip. Even if a major hurricane came by it would likely only mess up one day and Disney has historically been very good about making up to their visitors.

Don't worry about the weather. It's just liquid sunshine!
