About being pregnant: that morning sickness would NOT stop after the first trimester like everyone assured me. Mine continued into the second trimester and I was not prepared at all. I also wish I had known more about remedies and medicines that can help with morning sickness.

About the delivery: wish I had educated myself about induction and c-sections. I was totally unprepared for my surgery and had a long recovery and lots of breastfeeding problems.

About the recovery: not until my third baby did I discover "perifoam" and a maxi pad kept in the freezer to help with healing and soothing my stitches!

1- There is a point where it is too late to get an epidural.
2- You still look pregnant the next day - That one really
p!$$ed me off, but I was over the lack of epidural at that point.

Things I found out that I will share - the little water bottle they give you at the hospital? Treasure it! The mesh undies (if you had a vaginal birth) are very comfortable, and breastfeeding isn't something you or your baby will know how to do right off the bat! It takes practice.

I was a little tightly wound. RELAX. Everything is fine. Also, your baby needs to get sick to develop an immune system. I wish I would have not been so germophobic.

PS: The hospital was BORING! Take things to do, and your own pillow.

When people talk about being pregeant they always tell u about the pain. But no one ever mentions the incredible feeling that you get from giving life to another person. It is a great feeling, especially when it's your first.

I wish for my first I had known more about breastfeeding and how to put my foot down and NOT let the nurses give her formula. The formula wasn't necessary and it interfered with our nursing at first.

wish i knew that when EVERYONE says, "they grow up fast" that they REALLY do. you just delivered them and are changing their first diaper, then next thing you know your playing tooth fairy, then you're dressing them for their first dance and listening to boy troubles! ( i obviously have daughter, lol!)

That if you have a c-section, you'll be able to smell your own skin burning as they cut you open. Yeah, real pleasant.
