I'd give her a hand mirror to watch and say, "lay down, and bend your knees." We joke a lot in our family, I'd probably be wisecracking. I guess I'd pull out the latex gloves..."Doktor Mom, at your service"

Well this is hard to answer becuase we don't know all the information.

If she is on her period (in the case that she's gotten it in the first place) just tell her to relax her vaginal muscles, and pull on the string gently.

However, if she is not on her period, or has never gotten one, you may need to help her and realize that this is a much more serious situation. If she is completely uncomfortable with the idea of you getting it out for her, than have her do it herself. But either way do this-

Have her open her legs up, and relax her vaginal muscles and very slowly and gently pull the string on the tampon. You might want to try using a little lubrication-anything from olive oil to a personal lubricant like KY Jelly. This will take down the possibility of her seriously hurting herself.

In either case, if you still cannot get the tampon out, go to the ER or an Ob/Gyn.

And afterwards, have a talk with your daughter.

I wouldn't be mad. My first thought would be to help her, maybe let her go into the bathroom and talk her through getting it out.

I never asked my mom about using tampons, I just did it on my own.

I never asked for permission myself, it's her body & personal choice (in this case). I would be more concerned if, it had been about sex.
This is a good opportunity for you to find out why she didn't,
perhaps this will open the door to other situations.
Provide her with a mirror & instruct her how to remove the tampon. :)

1st of all, i would help her get it out. 2nd of all, i would have a little chat with her about why she didn't come to me for help.
