B. I always put myself on the back burner. It is who I am. My family & friends always come first.

It depends on the friend and how close you are. If it is a best friend, then listen to theirs first and, I bet, they will listen to yours as well. True friends will always lean on each other even as times are tough.

B.

Of all people.... I know you know what it is like. If you even thought about telling someone your problem while they had one, the minute you finished they might say, "Oh I know what you mean because what I'm going through right now is so bad because.......... "And boom....... they would be off and running with their problem. And you being you...... you'd table your problem then to reach out and help them solve theirs. So If I come to a friend and they speak about their problem..... I keep mine to myself and we focus on theirs. It's just best that way. When we choose to confide, we do so with the hope that we have that person's focus and attention. If we don't, we gain very little but perhaps frustration as we share and then receive nothing in return to help us. So its best to help the friend the way you pray they would help you. And perhaps.... in time.... as they solve their problem..... we can then go to "D"..... (other)..... Your example will show them what it is you need for them to be for you. And if they are a true friend......... they will repay us with guidance and understanding as well.

P.S. (However, at a later time.... I'd like to run by you what happens to me sometimes and see if you have dealt with this as well. Thank you)

B, definitely.......my own takes a back seat. Besides I'm usually better at working on other peoples problems than my own.

C....as friends you should be able to lean on one another at any time. I would listen to my friend, try to get them through then spill my guts...it is really double therapy!
