I recently purchased a mh. although, under agreement my mom co-signed on title unitl i can pay her back. they won't turn on gas because my mom has a bill. my mom isn't even living there. I have no gas for my water heater, stove, or furnance...is it against the law to deny me?

No, it isn't against the law for them to deny service because of unpaid bill.
Most gas companies are now privately owned utilities and operate a little differently. If you cannot provide a co-signer that doesn't owe them money, then you might want to offer a deposit and to set up the account in just your name.

you shouldn't have a problem. My gas bill is under my name, when I'm not listed in the title. Call them again and speak to the manager.

They don't have to give you gas if you don't give them money in return. Your mom's name is on the title, so the place is legally concidered part hers. The gas company is absolutely within their rights.

if you have minor children living with you, you may have a case.
