I've always wondered, like what if John Bonham would have died before they recorded their first album? What if they never met eachother?
How would all of music be different?

ps. Would Metallica exist without Zeppelin?

i think music would just be totally different, Zep showed the world that you could be creative and different and still make it big. they didnt care about what other bands cared they did their own thing because they liked it. they didn't let people influence them, they influenced people. Yes there are plenty of hard rock bands from that era but they could never have amounted to what Zeppelin did. Zep changed music for good and i dont think any other band can be as influental as them. oh, and to answer your question i think there would be a Metallica but i dont think they would have become as nearly as popular as they have without Zeppelin.

Music might be a little different without Zep. They influenced lots of different bands. But there were still lots of great hard rock bands back then, Hendrix, Sabbath, The Who, Alice Cooper. So, I think Metallica would have still made it. I don't know about the Zeppelin sound a like bands like White Snake, they might have had to copy someone else.
Plus Zeppelin never like being called a Metal band, they had so much more than just great metal. Blues, Folk, Rock, maybe a little Bluegrass too.

Without Zep, music in general and possibly the entire planet would be nothing but a barren wasteland. An arid landscape of total emptiness and nothingness where there can be no life, no light, and no hope. All is dark and grey in that world. Humankind has devolved into roving bands of cannibalistic mutants, and the horizon looks like it came right out of "Thundarr the Barbarian."

But thankfully, we don't have to worry about that. We DID have Zepplin. As J.K Rowling said, "All was well."

my hell, you are naive. let me educate you a little. zep had very very little influence on metallica. metallica was influenced by bands like judas priest, venom, iron maiden, etc....who were directly influenced by black sabbath.

while zep was writing bluegrass songs and madrigal tunes, sabbath was shredding the 70's and stiking fear into every parent in the UK and america.

ok let me be to the point.....black sabbath was first!!! when led zeppelin came out, they were regarded as a sabbath copycat. it's a fact, look it up. sabbath was first, period....... you weren't around at the time. i was.

also, ozzy and plant started their solo careers at about the same time. ozzy's influence on music is in it's 5th decade......60's 70's 80's 90's 2000's......where the hell are page and plant? they're putting out mediocre records every 10 years or so, while ozzy is still writing #1 hits

There was quite a few bands that played Led Zeppelin's type of music back in 1969, early seventies. Led Zeppelin was just the supergroup of that era and I think music would have evolved the same without them.

well rock music mightve died as a whole...think about it ac/dc, gnr, metallica, deep purple, def leppard, bon jovi, and so on waz mostly influenced by them theyre definately wouldnt b ne metal, or very much hard rock and thats whatz helped keep rock alive for so long and if there waz ne rock it would suck way more than the music of today ever wouldve dared 2b and w/o alot of creativity most bands got alot of their style and ideas from them or ppl who was influenced offa them...every1's main influence then wouldve still been the beatles, the who, the rolling stones, and maybe the grateful dead...lets face it rock would totally suck!!!!!

There'd be no White Stripes. And who knows if Alternative Rock of the 80s would have ever picked up. Sonic Youth??
