what makes up for what i DON'T have is what i DO have.

i'm grateful for the emotions and feelings i have for others and for myself. i don't worry that i cannot do everything, i just concern myself with what i CAN do, only worrying about the things i can control.

i'm happy to enjoy the experiences i HAVE had so far, and not so concerned about the things i might be missing out on. sure it's nice to dream about other places and careers, but i have had a wonderful life doing what i enjoy and seeing beauty in what surrounds me. nicer elsewhere? maybe, but it's very pleasant 'where i am' right now.

possessions are good to collect if you have unlimited time and unlimited room - i have neither. so i don't concern myself with what everyone else owns, or what other people cannot believe i DON'T own; instead i spend my free time with favorite items and experiences.

the one thing that helps me lose all interest in what i do NOT have is the love of the person i do, my wife. if i have her, i have EVERYTHING.

What makes up for things I don't have is that I live in a free country, can speak my mind, get up out of bed each morning under my own steam (so to speak), have a husband who loves me and great kids, a good job, one beautiful granddaughter, a decent place to live in a safe neighborhood and enough money to live on. I don't need things. I am already rich.

My friends make up for the family I do not get to be with.

My experience makes up for the 90% of my wits.

My love for God & Jesus makes up for all of my short comings.

My daddy always taught me that if you do not have the proper tools to do the job, Improvise! That is what makes up most of my life to get through it.

There is nothing in my life that can make up for the loss of my parents and family members that I don't have. Time helps make it more bearable

Saying all the things about what I have other than being selfish and saying i don't have this....Because some people who are less fortunate don't even have food and i should be thankful that i do.

He's right. How I can I know all that I don't have?

And...on this list of "Don't Haves", how many are things I don't want?

My co-worker just got back from Iraq (and retired). He often says "It's all good." even in tough situations. I asked him about it ans he said "If you aren't getting shot at and explosives thrown/aimed at you, then it's all good." I use that comparison for my everyday life. For example; cleaning up cat puke, it's all good because I am not getting shot at while cleaning up cat puke (or in general).

I have a difficult time thinking of what I don't have, because I have everything if I have love and having that can lack nothing.
