Plan B is basically just a higher dose of regular birth control. Certain birth control pills CAN be equivalent to Plan B. It depends on what kind of birth control it is and it HAS to have levonorgestrel in it, which is the active drug in Plan B (the "morning after pill").
Plan B has 0.75mg of levonorgestrel in it. Certain birth control pills can contain anywhere from 0.1mg to 0.25mg of levonorgestrel in them. So, taking anywhere from 3 - 8 tablets of regular birth control pills is equivalent to taking one dose of Plan B. A woman also has to take the active pills in a birth control pack, NOT the last weeks worth of pills. These pills are basically "sugar pills" and have NO active drug in them.
I work in a hospital pharmacy and we had a woman come in as a trauma a few months ago. She had been beaten and raped and she was terrified that she might become pregnant. We were completely out of Plan B and the pharmacist recommend to the doctor that if she took 5 pills of regular birth control pills that we had, it would be equivalent to a dose of Plan B. She was then suppose to take another 5 pills in 12 hours. So, we popped out the "sugar pills" and sent up a pack of regular birth control pills.
If you are considering doing this PLEASE talk to a doctor. Taking Plan B should be the first choice and you should have no reason to not be able to get it.

Not taking the pill on time will lessen the effect. Especially if she's on antibiotics. It says so in the information that comes with the pack. It's only efficient if you take it at the exact same time every day. And if you do miss pills then you sould wear a condom or wait a certain amount of days. When you get the morning after pill you have to be 18 or older to get it at the pharmacy. It's just behind the counter and not hard to get. It's pretty expensive though. I'm on the pill and have unprotected sex, but I still make sure my partner pulls out. Better to be more safe than sorry. Good luck!

One morning after pill is the same as taking 3 any brand birth control pills at once. It's not the best idea to use the morning after pill (or take 3 regular BC pills at once), but to stick to a regular birth control pill. Using the morning after pill can cause intense cramping, dizziness, nausea/vomiting, diarhhea, and heavy periods.

While both are hormone based, they are mutually exclusive.
The BCP is a low-dose pill that is taken daily to prevent ovulation and thereby prevent pregnancy.
MAP is a HIGH dose of hormones taken one time (well technically twice ... two doses) that prevent the implantation of a potentially fertilized ovum.
They work completely differently, and if you're considering taking a BUNCH of BCPs in an effort to duplicate the effects of the MAP, do NOT. All you'll accomplish is making your self dog-sick.
If you think you might be pregnant, get yourself to a clinic or Planned Parenthood; do NOT self medicate or mess with a pregnancy...it could not only endanger the fetus but also your own life.

That is not necessarily going to work. You may end up creating a pregnancy with disabilities/diformities. Birthcontrol, is not a morning after pill, and will not work as a morning after pill!!!!!!!!!!
If you are afraid you are pregnant, then for the morning after pill, you have no more than 72. hrs. to use the morning after pill. It has to be perscribed by a doctor, and they have to give you specific instructions that you need to follow or it can be very harmful to you. If you are thinking of the abortion pill, again you must get it from a doctor, with specific instructions as you could bleed to death, because you are aborting , and it has to come out. I know this for a fact because my friend was raped and later discovered she was pregnant from it and chose the abortion pill. She was in massive massive pain, curled in a ball, bled so bad, that I myself picked her up and to the car and drove her in the hospital. Keep in mind, on a regular day, I could never have carried her. It was fear and panic that made me be able to lift her like that. The doctor said had I not brought her in , she would have bled to death. So go to a doctor, you had sex w/o protection, or it didn't work. However, you had sex, so now face the consequences and go talk to a doctor. You will not find any easy simple solution, or be able to terminate with birth control pills, you will risk deformity etc... along with harm to yourself

why would a birth control pill work the same as a morning after pill? The whole point of birth control pills is to stop you from getting pregnant so you wont need the morning after pill. so, the answer is NONE.

There aren't any birth control pills, But if you have unprotected sex you can fit in an IUD (either 5 days or 5 weeks - or something like that??? you'll need to look it up sorry, but i know it's quite a while after!) later and will act the same as the morning after the pill and will give you protection there after

This is for sure a question you need to ask your own doctor. Don't mess around with your body, or with the chances of being pregnant and taking meds.

None. If you try to do this to prevent an unwanted pregnancy you are likely to still be pregnant and have a baby born with birth defects. Please see a doctor immediately if you need emergency contraceptives. Clinics are free and confidential if you would feel better going that route.
