Ocean, hands down!
Any one that's ever been to Hawaii.. or the islands of the Caribbean, or walked the beaches of Rio de Janiero and jumped in, and then has been to southern California & Long Island's white sandy beaches... and waded in the warm Gulf of Mexico.. and compared that nature, that beauty (not even talking about what's below the water, for snorkeling/swimming...) -- with a mucky-bottomed lake, where fuel exhaust/discharge from boats just sits there.. or a backyard pool.. well, isn't worthy of an answer.

Well, I'd have to pick pool because in Florida the lakes have Alligators and the ocean has jelly fish and sharks!

Shark Week on Discovery has enforced my fear to never go into the ocean past knees and the lake, has leeches so I take my turtle pool LOL!
