This conversion is only on paper to avoid legal hassles and give the marriage legitimacy. The individuals continue to practice their own religion and their off spring follow the religion of their parents birth.

If you are referring to Aditya Udit Narayan, he is a Nepalese Bollywood actor, singer and dancer. He was born on August 6 1987. He is the son of Deepa Narayan and the popular Bollywood playback singer, Udit Narayan. Narayan is currently hosting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007, replacing Shaan who previously hosted the series.
Narayan is of Nepalese ancestry. His father, Udit Narayan, came to India in 1979 to study music from Nepal. Narayan started his musical career when he was just 5 years old, Narayan sang a Nepali film track for Mohoni. His mother is also nepalese ethnic origin.

I have no idea who he is but judging from the name I would think he was a hindu, but I'm not sure.
