I have 6 and I'm not the greatest fan of them -- they just havne't been as reliable as HP or Lenovo ThinkPad.

If you are staying abroad India, go for the Toshiba Satllite models cause they are quite easy to handle and don't cause bring a lot of difficulties while servicing. But if you stay in India, I think buying the Lenovo Y-series/Acer aspire laptops/Hp nx 6100/Compaq for college projects or studies would be great and there will be no difficulties for servicing.

I have two, the older one lasted 5 years plus and then hard dive failed, replaced hard drive and reinstalled OS and have used for another year plus with out any problem. Newest one have had for one year with no problems. I think they are excellent, any name brand probably would be as good. Have owned H/Packard and Dell desk tops that gave very good service.
Any lap top is expensive to repair ( parts and Labor), would recommend getting extended warranty.
Hope this helps

I have had mine just under a year and love it. I did alot of research online before buying it and have been very satisfied. Talk to others who have them, go online and compare different brands. Good luck!
