Fascinating you asked this this morning! Digressing as I tend to do--last night I "committed" myself to a happy dream. I had a long, long dream, (actually the dream itself probably only lasted a second or two, but time "stretches" in dreams). Through the entire dream I was laughing to tears. When I woke up, I was laughing out loud.
Neither dreams nor nightmares come true in a literal sense. Recurring dreams of deep emotion contain messages in symbols & metaphors that in retrospect, "come true." For example, I had a recurring dream (I record them in journals) that I referred to as "Losing My Place." In every dream, there was an extreme shock of realization that I'd somehow left My Place, & could never return. A very emotional sense of being forever lost & wandering in search of it, but knowing I could never go back. I HATED these dreams. But, did I get the message? No. & indeed, I literally left MY Place, & spent some years disoriented & regretful. MESSAGES in dreams or nightmares come true. Now, I examine any pattern I see developing, & evaluate its metaphors as to what's happening in my life, (decisions, choices), & absolutely rely on them to guide me. I've not erred--so far.

Edit: TheViking has really gone over the top! Your avatar is handsome & reminds me of the guys in PlayGirl magazines my sister got (for a brief priod of her life). Audacious opinion that should be kept to himself. Really!

In my case im going to say more nightmares come true. My dreams are pure fantasy and extremly uneralistic. Most of them seem to be an obvious mix between fantasy and real life. I can usually tell that im dreaming.
However my nightmares seem so much more realistic while im having them... just my luck.
Last year i had this reacurring dream about my high school homecimng. The dreams started off with me going with my boyfriend and having a great time. As time went by and homecoming came closer andcloser the dreams slowly turned to nightmares. Next i had dreams of being stood up at the homecoming dance. And lastly the night beofre the dance i had a dream about my boyfriend taking my best friend. At homecoming i walked in to find my boyfriend with my best friend.

My nightmares always come true.

Come to think of it, I do not have any Dreams or Nightmares, when I Sleep, I wish someone would tell me why is it? If I remember correctly, it has been about six Months ago, since I had a Dream, and it was not a nightmare.

I agree with physic cat:)
More than nightmares, dreams come true!:)
A nightmare is a bad dream. It can may make you feel scared, anxious, or upset, but nightmares are not real and can't harm you.Stressful things that happen during the day can turn dreams into nightmares. Nightmares may be a way to relieve the pressures of the day.
Remember that a dream unifies the body, mind, and spirit. It provides you with insight into ourselves and a means for self-exploration.:)
Sometimes, dreams may reveal you something!:)

I don't think either of them come true in the sense that we are dreaming. The dream is just a dream where we see something somewhere else happening as a learning experience for our soul.

I do believe that if you only have negative thoughts, you will have negative actions. If you have positive thoughts, you will have positive actions.

I try very hard to have positive thoughts about things, but they are mostly negative because i worry to much, and see more of all the negative things happen to me as you can call a nightmare. I am sure if I don't think about it, than it wont be such a big deal at all.

i think
you saw nightmare and in order to express your feelings you came with out shirt .
dreams !
VARIOUS KINDS OF DREAMS
some are come from divine these are true and usually carries good message.
dreams about moon ,sun ,stars,Meeting with Prohpets or any saint are true.
Allah shows some dreams carry signal for you.
like nightmare, it may carry warning not do such thing etc
good dreams are sometimes true and carry good news.
so both can be true or false.
some dreams are merely the results of our imaginations so these are not true dreams.

medically it so happens that your digestive system or stomach is not functioning properly so you would have nightmares usually.
some dreams come as result when you have come across an incident .
sometimes you forget something that really happens in your life you actually forget that but this would be present somewhere else in your brain memory cells and your brain (which is working 24 hours even when you are sleeping)shows that particular phenomenon to you into dreams.
in my religion if you want interpretation of your dreams you should consult a person who has knowledge of it otherwise wrong interpretation will come true.
like you have a good dream and you asked a person totally unable to interpret the dream to interpret your dream .if he will interpret you good dream into bad or vice versa his wrong interpretation will come true.

Anyhow,

If you mean dreams as in those we create for ourselves during waking and nightmares in a methaphorical sense? Well, I think it is very unwise to rigidly define "a dream". They require modification with the ebbs and flows of life. So, they all come true with a healthy perspective. What's for you, won't go by you. I think that's mostly true with insight and perseverance. Nightmares? They are often temporary occurences; hard-balls life throws us that hopefully we catch, examine, then throw away what we don't need or can't learn from. Hopefully, very few come true to the extent that they become frequent or reoccurring.

I'd have to say nightmares. My sweetest dreams might be your most terrifying vision. So if it comes true, I'd say that was pretty much of a wash.

Dreams are usually a fantasy of sorts and rarely come true. Nightmares (not necessarily the monster variety) are probably more reality-based and consequently do come to pass more often.

What could be more frightening that getting what you wish for, anyway?

Dreams (I Hope)

Nightmares may offer you a warning as to what you should avoid. If you see the same events taking place that took place in your nightmare, stop, leave, or somehow change the events.
