well I know a few people who just so happened to be white and they attended "black" U's. We are human, so let "black history" be your history too. Also, feel free to read ebony, I read Vogue and W. I also attended a predominantly, white U. Everything is for everyone~
Also, I think "black U's" were implemented, because Blacks were not allowed entrance to other U's.

That's because most magazines, history, and universities are about white people. Before the movement to include the contributions of minorities and women, they were barely mentioned in history books. You'd get Queen Elizabeth, slaves, and that was about it. Everyone else was a rich, white guy. And those same groups have traditionally had trouble getting into regular universities. My own college didn't start admitting them until the 1950s. They're still around because there's still a lot of subtle prejudice against minorities (and not so subtle), making it difficult for them both to get in and to do well within a non-black (or non-female only) college. Same with magazines. Flip through a magazine, and you'll see plenty of white faces looking back at you. It's getting better, but we're nowhere near there yet.

In America, there is no such thing as an all Black University. If u are not Black and you attend an HBCU, u can actually receive a minority scholarship. You also have Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, American Indian History Month and so on. As for the magazines, take a look at Vogue and Vanity Fair.
If u have no idea why HBCU's exist (which I find ludicrous), I advise that u take some sort of African American History course, or at least look it up on the net.

I'm sorry but I think your logic is worng. First of all there is Causcasian magazines. It s all the magazines you see on the shelves: Cosmo, Harpers, Elle etc. You will not find many Black faces in there.
HBU's were created so Black people can go to school! There was a time when they were not able to get into a White university you know. What are we supposed to do-tear them down now?! They are a piece of history!
White history is 11 months out of the year. Why cant Black people have one month where they can celebrate their heritage?
Why do you have to ask about Black people? Other nationalities have their own magazines too. Native Americans have their own schools and a month where their heritage is celebrated. Asian people even have their own magazines and months where they celebrate their heritage too. If you were in San Francisco would you ask why is there a Chinese New year? Would you ask them to get rid of it because you dont like it?
I think you should do some research before you make these snap judgements.

You have Black Universities because there was a time in our recent history if you were not white, you could not get into a decent college. Colleges such as Howard University seeks out students that come from an economically disadvantaged background, not necessarily black.
So by exclusion you have had centuries of white universities, white magazines and white history. (Our history text books previous to 1960 were written exclusively by caucasians and were written from that perspective.)
As for magazines, it was 1964 before you had the first black centerfold in Playboy Magazine. In the 1950's you never had a black face in an advertisement unless it was on a butler or maid.
Before 1947 you even had white only baseball cards.

Most of the magazines on the shelf is geared towards Caucasian people and their is a month dedicated to every ethnicity like Asian, Hispanic, etc. month that don't get publicized. Their are plenty of Caucasian people who go to black universities. Black universities exist because a long time ago black people couldn't get into the historical "Caucasian" universities.

First of all the every thing that you learn in school is based on the European experience black history is just so people can learn about a different culture, as for magazines there is really no point in even giving you a proper answer, universities some else is going to have to answer that.

At one time there were only white Universities because they would not allow minorities in. Because of this, blacks started their own Universities. However, white people can go to a black University if they want to. As far as all of the other things that you stated, they all came into being beings black people were not allowed access to the mainstream things.

The reason for black universities is because back as early as the 60's black couldn't go to white schools, and to your point on white magazines you have FHM, MAXIM, PEOPLE etc I could go on and on just because they don’t have white in the title doesn't mean that it’s not meant for white people.
Last thing about black history month if we didn't have that then nobody would ever talk about the great things blacks have done in history for this country and we would never know about our culture........

As far as the Universities go, back in the day the "white" universities would not allow blacks into them. So they opened their own universities. But now, anyone can go to their university and many do. They have an excellent reputation and instructors.
