Best pitcher in baseball right now, Jake Peavy. Best hitter; toss up between Albert Pujois and A-Rod. Best player under 25; Prince Fielder

It's Alex Rodriguez, you're completely right. He is going to go down in the top 5 to ever play the game, probably top 3 assuming that his career runs a natural course (no major injuries or anything like that).
On that note, I don't get why everyone is all up in arms about Bonds, Alex Rodriguez is going to wipe him out of the top spot in a few years anyway. Bonds is irrelevant.
Pitcher, at the moment I'm pretty high on Jake Peavy (if the Pads weren't so offensively dificient imagine the year he would be having), but at the end of the year at Cy Young time look out for John Lackey. All in all, not just this year, I would probably go with Santana.

My prominent participant is Alex Rodriguez. i think of he's the main finished participant in baseball. He hits for potential, widespread, has velocity and is an above widespread fielder. he's able to enjoying shortstop or third base. He has won an MVP at the two positions. He got here up as a nineteen year old with Seattle, and it replaced into obtrusive from the beginning up that he replaced into going to be an excellent participant. He has dealt nicely with the rigidity of enjoying in long island alongside with of Derek Jeter, the main commonly used athlete in long island over the final 10 years. The Yankees play extra acceptable while he's interior the lineup batting fourth. The Yankees have began their super play after he have been given back from his time on the disabled record. I continuously wish that Rodriguez performs nicely and leads the Yankees to a win.

Honestly, I think that "best player" is all relative. Yes, A-Rod is putting up some incredible numbers, but numbers don't mean jack if his team doesn't win.
Personally, I think Chipper Jones is the best player in the majors. He has put up great numbers over his career including a lifetime .306 average, a run of 6 straight seasons were he had both 100 runs and 100 RBI (first 3rd baseman ever to do that), he's the Atlanta Braves career leader in HR's and he won th '99 MVP. Not to mention he has helped lead Atlanta to an NL East title in 11 of the last 12 seasons, 3 World Series births, and a World Championship in '95. Not to mention he has done everything his team has asked of him to help them win, including spending a few seasons in left field and moving over to shortstop a few days ago when Renteria got hurt. He is a talented player and a leader on a young team. In my opinion, there is no position player than Chipper Jones.

Like him or not it has to be A-Rod. All anyone has to do is just look at his monster numbers and it would be difficult to come up with anyone else. Some will say Pujols and Bonds is past his prime leaving A-Rod as the guy carrying the MLB torch at this time.
