This is not about Cheney and Giulani. It's about public opinion. If Giulani is not responsible for his child's decision, then neither is Cheney. When you exhonerate Giulani, you exhonerate Cheney, since in both cases the affront was committed by an offspring, and not the man himself.

The replies show that most of you are trying to change the subject. Why is Cheney responsible for his daughters personal dewcisions? Would any of you be able to stop a child from going the gay route? Be honest, for a change!

I will give a thumbs down to anyone who doesn't respond to the question. Plaudits for any of the four actors doesn't count. The question is as to why Cheney is blamed for his daughter's actions, and Giulani is not. Please refrain from any other comments.

Not all family members agree on politics or other subjects. It's alright to disagree I thought. And if they don't get along because he divorced her mother that's o.k. too. As far as Cheney's daughter being a lesbian, who care's. That doesn't mean anything as far as Cheney's concerned. Don't tear down family membrs to get at the political person, not fair. Cheney has enough going aganist him without using his daughter.
No thumbs down
I don't think either father is responsible for their daughters.

What this shows me is that Giuliani has not indoctinated his daughter with Republican propoganda. He has given her the freedom to make her own decisions. Just because a parent is Republican or Democrat doesn't mean their kids have to tow the line as well. This is the beauty of democracy.
At least I give her credit she's supporting the right democratic candidate. Hillary is a disaster waiting to happen.

Yes, I heard the news. I don't think it's "worse than Cheney's daughter being a lesbian," though. In both cases, the men raised strong daughters who can think for themselves, which I admire. In the Cheney case, however, he's willing to take a political stance that would limit his daughter's legal rights. So far, I haven't seen Giuliani trying to limit the rights of *his* daughter.

Yes I knew.
If his own daughter doesn't support him then that is a very bad sign. Also, his son doesn't support him and the firefighters that were at 9-11 don't support him.
Also, he has made many mistakes as Mayor. Also, in the debates he always refers to 9-11 and he is just using that to get elected.

If she doesn't believe in her fathers politics that is her choice.
Guuliani is a really good example having had three divorces, sure shows his family values, what a joke he is.

Yeah, but she is 17 years old... so who cares?
But its funny... There is a serious flaw in a man whose children hate him that much to make statements like this. Giuliani has always been an elitist and a bully... he won't last the primary.

No its not. Caroline Giuliani is a grown woman on her way to college.
She can back whomever she wishes.
Sure her dad is a nut, but he at least raised a daughter who thinks on her own.

It has to be embarrassing for the old man. I hope my children would back me if I ran for anything.
