Obviously nothing has been learned from history. Reagan sold weapons to Iraq and Iran and where are we with them now. He also sold weapons to the Taliban, do you think that was smart?
Has George W. Bush ever made any wise decision? I don't think so. This is just another lame brain decision from the decider.

I guess selling them is better than losing 196,000 weapons. 45% of the foriegn fighter in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia so perhaps we are arming our enemy. 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis but they are our friends. Just another brilliant move by this administration. We should go to Pakistan and sell some, I'm sure the Taliban would jump at the offer.

5 of 29?? where did you get that? everything i've read (including the white house's own reports) say the majority of the men that hijacked the planes on 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia.
does anything good ever come from selling weapons to the middle east? also, did you know that Iran is the only country that still uses F-14 fighter jets, and that they buy all their parts from the USA. theres a brilliant idea.
Bush is an idiot of world class proportions. remember how we never voted for him in the first place? i'm probably never going to vote for president again, because its obvious our votes count for nothing.

They're in the market, better it comes from us. It builds our alliance and ties our governments, though I also don't feel well supporting any tyrant. If we become enemies, we can always stop supporting/maintaining those weapons (a la Iran), not the case if they buy Chinese or Russian or French arms.
Besides, in that culture, I'm not worried about military vs military battles so much as religious nut vs school bus battles.

Absolutely. Look how well it worked out in Iran! And besides, the Saudis are our friends. Other than 9/11, what have Saudis done to hurt us.
All hail the house of Saud (can I get those billion gallons of oil now?)

Most of the 9/11 Hijackers were Saudi
Most of the Foriegn Fighter in Iraq are Saudi
Seems logical that we should give them F-16s and other weapons so that the Wahabis can make some real suicide bombs.

Who knows. An ally today and enemy tomorrow. These are things that only time will tell. I do not think its a bad move since Saudi Arabia has proven to be an ally to the US many times.

Either the Saudis will buy them from us or buy them from the Russians or Chinese. We might as well make the money and keep our people working

Some people say it worked with Afghanistan and Iraq.
How can you claim they are a threat if they don't have weapons?
