I am in the market for a laptop and see that Toshiba has pretty high ratings. Are their computers good? better than HP? I hear from some people that HPs are junk.

I have a Toshiba, and it's very good. They lots of extra memory, and it comes with everything standard. You'd probably get Windows XP, which is easier to operate than Windows Vista, I think. However, you want to make sure that the battery is always charged, because you can only get about 2 1/2 hours of battery life. (assuming you don't play a movie). You can have a burn drive, and extensions if you have floppy disks.

Yes. Toshiba is the best choice for laptops since Toshiba makes the best laptops. You should get a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it.

I'm honestly not too impressed with my Toshibas...they have some interesting quirks. I think when I buy again I will go with Lenovo Thinkpad or HP.

I'm using a toshiba and I spilt water on it. The light burnt out and you couldn't see the screen so I just flipped it upside down and charged it and the next day it was good as new.
I think it's good.
