I would commend him on his successful "Habitat for Humanity" program and ask to expand this model to solve more pressing problems at home and abroad -- including (1) housing and assisted living for mental illness, which has affected his own family; (2) creating a secure complex for criminal corrections and social services along the border to provide alternatives to illegal immigration and restitution on a voluntary or mandatory basis; and (3) rebuilding houses, schools, hospitals, and communities in Iraq, Africa and other wartorn areas, instead of wasting resources fighting for political control.

I was a conservative Reaganite and didn't vote for you, I thought you were a ineffective President. But I now see that you were an honorable man of your word. A humanitarian whose tireless efforts inspire us. Thank You.
I couldn't do it in one sentence.

I remember that you actually dared ask Americans to make a few sacrifices--use less oil, set our thermostats on sensible levels--and although many people resented that, I thank you for treating us as adults. I admire the ceaseless work you've done for charities since your administration, and am sorry so many people can't see past their political biases to admire over thirty years of service. Peace be with you.

Past Presidents had the respect while you were in office to honor the office, and not attack you, you should extend the ame courtesy.

"Hey, Jimbo, did you ever thank Nixon for making you president? Too bad, Regan kicked your butt though."
The Watergate scandal and Fords pardon of Nixon basically put a democrat in office.

Thank you, Mr. President for your honest attempt at making Americans realize how their dependance on foreign oil would eventually lead to the current situation.
