I would commend him on his successful "Habitat for Humanity" program and ask to expand this model to solve more pressing problems at home and abroad -- including (1) housing and assisted living for mental illness, which has affected his own family; (2) creating a secure complex for criminal corrections and social services along the border to provide alternatives to illegal immigration and restitution on a voluntary or mandatory basis; and (3) rebuilding houses, schools, hospitals, and communities in Iraq, Africa and other wartorn areas, instead of wasting resources fighting for political control.

I remember that you actually dared ask Americans to make a few sacrifices--use less oil, set our thermostats on sensible levels--and although many people resented that, I thank you for treating us as adults. I admire the ceaseless work you've done for charities since your administration, and am sorry so many people can't see past their political biases to admire over thirty years of service.
