Everytime it rains or storms just a little bit, my internet does not work. When I try to navigate the web during a storm; I get "page cannot be displayed" on the browser and my DSL light goes out on my Speedstream router. We have contacted our ISP, Windstream, about this but they say there is something wrong with our end. Does anyone else have this problem? What do you guys think??

Sounds like moisture in the line, do you notice any noises in the phone line when it storms as well like popping, crackling or buzzing? Next time it does this and the dsl light is dropping out on your modem, call tech support at 8882923827 when this is happening, no matter the time...that line is 24x7. If the rep sees the conn drop, something can be done.

DSL uses your existing phone lines, but it requires higher quality and more integrity than simple phone voice communication. If the existing phone lines are of a quality that is just good enough for DSL, the electrical interferance generated by a storm may be enough to degrade the quality and performance of the phone lines to a point where it is not possible for the DSL to function.

I don't know what to think!? maybe you have a bad phone line outside your house and the storms cause it to be intermittent!?
you could talk to your phone company and maybe have them test it?!
by the way;you should unplug your computer and modem when it storms!!
I've already lost a modem to a bolt of lightning and don't want others to make the same mistake!also unplug the phone line that goes into the back of your modem

DSL is a hardwired connection. If your wiring is underground at any point, it can get wet and short out. it won't work until it dries out. The phone company should be able to improve the situation if you complain enough.

thats normal, just like when it thunders most of the electric goes out. Phone lines are thin as hell. So the winds builds up and blow them away lol Get cable. I havent had a problem when it rains hard here.

moisture on the phone lines causes noise and bad connections. make sure the D mark outside is properly covered and insulated is best you can do,

if its an older building with older lines the insulation may be brittle and allowing moisture in especially if any of it is underground, you might try a different jack if possible
